following this thread on ARF: https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/Virginia-HB961-Hearing-Tomorrow-Suppressor-Ban-/20-507577/

Sounds like the House passed a bill this morning to ban all silencers. And mags over 12 rounds (original proposal was 10). But any mag with a removable baseplate that would allow it to be modified to more than 12 is also included. Threaded barrels on pistols are included.

Registration of “assault weapons” not required, but lots of limits on where and how they can be transported.

I read the thread but but ....so it's not yet gone to the Senate?
If it does pass, that revocable living trust will come in handy to get those evil items out of enemy territory.

That’s my understanding. Passed the house. Some “so you’re saying there’s a” chance it doesn’t make it through the Senate.

interested in how the trust works as an advantage in these situations or ownership in general. Could you provide a brief rundown?

Add me to your trust....pass me your suppressor. Good to go. Legal beagle.
It now lives at my house in NC. Visit on weekends if you want.

What happened to we will not comply? Just another chip I guess.
If only a fraction of the people who showed upon 1/20/20 were to go down there and act ...

Unfortunately, I do not see a "legal" or political solution to this problem.

Still trying to sort this one out...

The silencer section was modified.

18.2-308.11. Import, sale, transfer, etc., of silencers; penalty.A. For purposes of this section, "silencer" means any device for silencing, muffling, or diminishing the report of a firearm, including any part or combination of parts designed or intended for use in assembling or fabricating such a device.
B. It is unlawful for any person to import, sell, transfer, manufacture, or purchase a silencer, provided that a person may transfer a silencer in accordance with the provisions of the National Firearms Act.

I (and several others) read that to basically say all existing silencers are grandfathered in. Hansohn Brothers interprets it as nothing has changed as long as NFA rules are followed. It’ll be interesting to see what the final decision/explanation is.

Article:
Today, Virginia Democrats continue their multi-front offensive against the Second Amendment, taking up Governor Ralph Northam’s “assault weapons” ban, magazine limits, and suppressor-confiscation bills in the state house’s Public Safety Committee. That makes it as good time as any to remind people again that “assault weapons” bans are unconstitutional. The quicker an “assault weapon” ban case can be put in front of the Supreme Court — which, granted, has been reluctant to take on new gun cases — the better.

Yesterday, during the public comments regarding the 2nd Amendment Resolution hearing in Forsyth County, I heard several folks opposed to the resolution mention, “manufactured fear” and “no one is trying to take your guns”.

Yes....yes, they are.

Clever libs would pass a law requiring every gun to have a permanently attached suppressor.

But when people around you start dropping, how will you know it's gunshots and call the police? And even if the police are already there, how will they know which direction to run?

What you will see in the videos, from free citizens, are more warning shots.
Text from the videos, bad vote, crowd erupts, cops form riot line to protect the politicos. Crowd shouts at them “whose side are you on?”

Guess they know now.

Of course they are, one bite at a time.
