Cool pictures. When did they transition to a more direct action role? I say that looking at the second picture and thinking he would look at home standing beside a Ranger or Delta guy from the same era.

We did VBSS and some CQB and used the MP5. That was early/mid 90s. Recon Batt did some of that, Force Recon did a lot more DA stuff. That was a weird time equipment-wise, a lot of mish-mash of issues and custom-made stuff, before the proliferation of places like London Bridge Trading, Blackhawk, Eagle Industries, etc. A lot of homemade stuff.
