Do you OWN the night?! Well, do you at least get some giggles out of stumbling around in the dark shooting stuff?

Come on out for another round of VOD Tac After Hours! The last event was a huge success with plenty of positive feedback. Think of this more as a 'friendly' and less as a 'match'. It's a great opportunity to put yourself and your gear to the test on the clock.

White Light and NVG both welcome!

Camp out on-site and join us for 3 Gun on Saturday!

I had at least 10 people say they would sign up on the last one so I'm hoping maybe more of my "friends" and the winter warrior/couch potatoes care to venture out this time. I'll do my best to show up after that don't expect anything per usual

Under "Extras", is the "TheGunRun Participant ( -$5.00 )" discount for those that have participated in prior Gun Runs?

We're about 1/2 way to sold out...

What crazy stuff should we do for a night match?

Toss a lit M80 (GRENADE!) into a ring for score?
Disco Lights and laser beams to throw you off?
Jungle run with staged shotgun??
Carry/drag/roll a 100# dummy through a stage?
Crawl through a wet muddy culvert on a refreshing January night?
bayonet charge?

what do ya think?

the intention is for folks that will be coming to Ellis' Night Ops match in March.

Have a flashlight at the target pointing back at the shooter that comes on after the beep.

I’d like to be dry for my 2.5 hour drive home please. 😂
Either way I’ll bring a change of clothes.

Light up non threats at random distances to confuse the shooter.

Night shoots are always fun. I need to try and clear my calendar.
You should have a half moon that night as well.

Looks like y’all are full up. Let me know if anyone doesn’t think they’ll make it so I can make sure I’m off work early enough Friday!

Are these stages going to have dump barrels or rifles slung to transition to pistol? Wondering if I need to bring a puddy knife to scrape off melted plastic from a suppressor.

Barrels are likely.

FWIW, I typically run a suppressor and rarely have issue with barrels.

EDIT: We will NOT be slinging hot/loaded/chambered rifles at any time. I know some matches allow that. We don't. Full stop.

Oof unslung rifles with NODs kinda suck for us guys without 3 hands. Understand the safety concerns though so it makes sense. I’ll add that I also ran a suppressor last time and didn’t have anything baked onto it. Owe that to the organizers going the extra mile and putting sandbags in the bottom of dump barrels.

I plan on having a cover on it too. Thanks!

LOADED slung rifles are a no go. UNLOADED (mag out, chamber empty) are good to go.

I've RO'd and run many matches with loaded slung rifles. Those events definitely have their place and value. THIS event has too many newer shooters for my comfort level in that regard.

-Batteries ✅
-Mags loaded✅
-Hat light✅
-Gas in truck✅
-Confidence that I know what I’m doing❌
-Plan on having an excellent time✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅

Also I’m coming from the Triad, so if anyone needs something transported just let me know 👍🏻

Y’all…pray for clear skies and something to blow this fog outta here!

I just proofed the stages and….we’re gonna be scrambling if we have this much fog!

If the SHTF tonight, my little car is ready. There are clothes, food and beer. I’ve got my night pew gear and backups. I have my 3 gun gear and backups. I have an inflatable car mattress in the back.

There is even a roll of tp.

If this old POS splodes on the way to Old Fort, somebody please come get me!

See you guys Saturday. Had hoped to do the Night Shoot also, but our church scheduled the "Winter Wonderland Prom" for Married/Dating folks for tomorrow night. On the upside, my "Promposal" to the wife (25 years in June) in front of her Kindergarten class is one of the finalists for the contest (not sure what the prize is, but whatever it is I want to win it, LOL).
