I have a buddy selling a vortex Strikefire that he got on an AR pistol that he traded for and no longer needs it. He's letting it go for $100, good deal? Also any reviews on it? Don't want to break the bank but also want an optic worth while.

It’s decent; Vortex has a lifetime warranty if anything should go wrong.

Is the size and weight worth it? Have you looked through a similar red dot? Some find their eyesight make the single dot a little difficult or hard to use for various reasons

I played around with it and the sight didn't bother me nor the weight in particular. Wasn't sure how ease they were to dial in or durability. Any similarly priced red dots recommended otherwise?

Similar price range I prefer sig romeo5. Auto on and off was the tie breaker for me. Vortex has a legendary warranty though.

I have one of the original Strikefire sights purchased on sale when the Strikefire 2 came out. It gives the option of a green dot, a feature I like.

I find the controls a bit klutzy; they changed the controls on the “2”. It’s just a minor issue.

I've got a strikefire 2. Its workable even with my slight astigmatism. I also run a 3x magnifier behind it.

Imo there are better options.
