VPN on phone causing issues?

Friend of mine is trying to join CFF and he has a VPN on his phone. The system is telling him he resembles a robot.

Any of y’all help him out?

Can he turn VPN off? If mines on it blocks me from logging in.
 
I was in China for the better part of March and used my VPN to log on without issue. But, I have been denied access on occasion while in USA and had to tune it off.
 
The forum may block traffic coming from certain countries.

Have your friend make sure the VPN is assigning him a US IP address/location.
 
yeah, I was in Canada a few weeks ago and had to tell my VPN to connect in the US- then it worked fine. Or he may need to just go turn it off completely to log in and then turn it back on when he's in. Sometimes I have to do that on my computer for some sites like Amazon or Hulu (not CFF, though).
