My old Simms need replacing. What’s the current go to wading boot?

I spend 99% of my fishing wet wading with neoprene socks and wading boots. I almost always hike in/out a mile or more to get away from the crowds. And, the streams I fish tend to be smaller mountain waterways where climbing over/under stuff, rock hopping and navigating boulders is the norm. IOW, not looking for a saltwater flats boot!

Korkers! I’ve tossed my Simms for these! I’ve got 2 pair of them. Easy to change out the soles from hiking (not really but better than felt!) to wading.

Korkers, I love mine with studs.

Not good to walk miles of roads but damn mtn goat on the river rocks and jetty boulders

Aren’t the swappable soles a PIA for hike in/out?

If your wanting to slip in and out of the soles... that ain’t happening.
But they can be changed. Easiest is to take them off because the sides lock into the boots with small tabs, then pull the rubber latch in to back.
I’ve left them up at the cape or I’d get you some pics

Really not hard, just a little time consuming.
Compared to sure footedness,? Worth it to me.

I started carrying a pack. That way I can hike in with shoes and change when I want to fish. Never really found a wading boot I wanted to hike around in.

I used to wet wade a lot in the Smokies using some Converse All Stars high tops with carpet Shoe Gooed to the bottom.
