It has what appear to be initials stamped on slide and frame, they appear stamped not scratched

I have heard everything from ID marks for a Nazi shooting team gun (.22 cal) to an overzealous bubba stateside

Is anyone aware of the possible significance of these stamps? logic would lead one to believe if they were simply someone’s initials they would have just stamped it once and it would seem parallel to the firearm would make more sense
