I picked up a Nikon monarch 3 6-24x50 the other day and went to buy a set of rings for it. I usually use leupold mark rings but to be honest just didn't have the extra cash to buy them right now. So I picked up a set of warne rings. Anyone use these or have any options on them? I must admit the design of these has me intrigued.

Personally I use them more than any other brand, heck I've gotten to prefer them over my high dollar rings. A little bit of a pain to install and they are normally heavier. However, they torque perfect and they don't leave ring marks. I've never had to lap a set before either. That's not saying you shouldn't but I haven't found the need to. Some will probably love or hate them but they have been great for me. I didn't like them at first because I thought they were ugly. Function outweighs looks for me so I use them all the time. Best of luck!

The style that split into left/right halves instead of top/bottom? I used a set on a Steyr Scout a bunch of years back and they were OK once I got them setup. Install is a little tricky trying to get them to torque with the reticle square to the world but once they're on there I had zero issues.

I did lap them prior to install, they very much needed it. This was around 2005 though, so maybe they're more square right out of the box these days.

I have used a few sets of Warnes. They are rock solid and usually use more screw to tighten than other brands. Use with confidence. Their QD's return to zero pretty darn good if you put them back in the right spot.

I have literaly installed hundreds of sets of them and have only had a couple of issues none of which where the rings fault. They just wouldn't fit where the customer wanted them too. They are good rings for not much money. The burris dee zee rings work well also for the money.
