My apologies, but I thought I read on here where someone was giving their chickens deer carcasses to pick clean.

Well, I decided to toss mine a ribcage this evening, and just like Mikey, in the old Life cereal commercials, they like it! They like it!

Yeah, hens are "evil creatures" they will eat anything living or "used to be living" at will🤣

A hens egg doesn't hatch? The rest of the brood will make it disappear. Feed them their own shells back? "Nom, nom". Nutrition to survive and propogate is normal operating procedure

anyone who has ever owned them for long, they'll eat anything that isn't trying to eat them and sometimes even them

I knew they would eat almost any and everything, but it never occurred to me to put those things in there.

Thanks!

no need to apologize lol I said it

I put it back in the cooler tonight. I didn't want it covered in fire ants when the girls descended in the morning.

I'll either toss it back in there before work, or when I get home for lunch.

who knew hens were carnivores.

I saw the needle move on my sarcasm meter.

I knew they were part meatasaurus, but I hadn't considered throwing carcasses in like that.

I like the ideer of giving them time with the bones before fully discarding them.

Dang sure wouldn't get close barefooted

I don't wear shoes at home, but I have a pair of slides I slip on before going in the coop. Unfortunately, my toes are exposed.

I've had to smack a hen more than once.

Don't have a stroke and fall over in the pen, at least that's what I keep telling my wife...
