Watches

This thread gave me PTSD.

Because once I thought I was clicking on this thread but it was a damn wartch thread and cannot be unseen.

Might have already mentioned this, as it hurt me. It hurt me bad.
Me freaking too! I double check the subforum to make sure I'm in the right place.

I really like Omegas. I’ve serviced a fair few over the years and like them a lot. Sure, they have problems, but they all do. Rolex are one of my least favourite, by the way.
What is it you don't like about Rolex? The internals, or servicing them? The design aesthetic? The price/quality ratio? The hype?

My wife's Rolex was extremely inaccurate out of the box.

Getting parts can be trying. And people think they should last forever without servicing them, so by the time I get them they can have considerable wear. There are other watches I like better in that price point.

Do you work on vintage Omegas at all? I have like three that need cleaning and oiling, or whatever, lol.
Might have asked you this before, not sure. asked somebody on old forum.

Okay, guys...watch gurus...
Who makes a big mans watch?
A. It needs an 11” Band that’s 1-1/4” to 1-1/2” wide
B. Has a face on it big enough that I don’t look like I’m wearing Shari’s watch.
C. Not going to require a 2nd mortgage.

Annnnddddd..... go!

Who makes a big mans watch? Look for watches in the 46-50mm range.
A. It needs an 11” Band that’s 1-1/4” to 1-1/2” wide - The band size won't be too bad here. You will need a nato style strap though unless you spend a ton of money on extra bracelet links. The problem you'll run into is the width.

Gotcha covered. I believe this is exactly what you're looking for.

The good news = You won't need to carry a gun anymore because nobody will ever attack you while you're wearing one of these.
The bad news = You'll still need a CCW permit and you'll be buying replacement batteries at Auto Zone!

This was my granddads and was given to me over 40 years ago at his death. It is a Juvenia, made is Switzerland and when I had it appraised 15 years ago it was $6,000. I don't wear it very often and it mostly sits in my safe.watch.jpg

I have not worn a watch in 15+ years because "my phone has a clock." But, I sort of like watches as little machines...same reason that I like revolvers. The Seiko "Cocktail Time" lineup is appealing.

So, picked this up on my way home from the Hickory Gun show today. It is a Seiko Presage "Cocktail Time" SRPB43J1 with blue ice dial. Cannot capture the details with my phone camera. The face is light blue. Band has blue stitching. It's interesting and easier than pulling my phone out for the time.

How much did that set you back if you don't mind me asking?

I have one of these on my wishlists along with Hamilton Jazzmaster.

I've seen them listed around $500 but this was on sale. A little over $400 after taxes. I am going to pick up a couple others from the series...just like them. You can find most in the series between $400-$450.

Where is the best place to buy a Sinn? Looking very strongly, not sure where to shop. Thanks!

Watchbuys is the only authorized dealer in the US.

I would check out https://www.watchrecon.com/?query=sinn

I typically buy from high feedback watchuseek members.

Today I'm wearing my eterna Kon tiki. I'd sell every watch in my collection before this one.

Nice watch too! Is that a Stingray in the background? Thanks for the reply! Possibly more questions inbound.
