So yeterday @BigWaylon posted a meme in the Awesome Pic thread and I thought I'd try it today

index.php

I didnt do butter, forgot about it, but I did add a little Parmesan cheese over it

Next time I'll do the butter, would soften them up a little more
but it was pretty dang good!

For anybody interested, my wife said this wasn't anything new. You can search for Hasselback Potatoes and find all kinds of variations of the recipe.

(Including sweet potato versions with butter, brown sugar, vanilla and cinnamon)

Well I appreciate the meme recipe and I'll look into more recipes in the future!

Text that meme to my wife this morning. We shall be trying this!!

Marinated pork loin and Waylons taters ready for the grill and oven.
I hit the taters with a pinch of garlic powder before the butter and hit it with the parmesan cheese after.
Let you guys know how it was in about an hour or so lol

Aint gonna lie...I came real close, too lmao
Surely you didn't try to do it manually?

Do something like laying a dinner knife (or a skewer, or something you have handy) along both sides and cut it with a straight edged blade (chef, santoku or similar).

The first time I made those I laid a piece of 5.56 brass on each side of the tater and cut down until I hit the brass. This way I didn't go all the way through and kept the cuts uniform. After that, I use a pencil on each side. Just use anything as a guide so you don't go all the way through. I drizzled olive oil on them and then some salt and pepper. Towards the end of the cook, I sprinkled some finely shredded cheese on them and worked it down into the splits.

I'm not a rifle shooter. Anybody near High Point have two 5.56 cases to sell?

Oh...and just btw and stuff...the taters turned out pretty good.
I squeezed the slices apart for the salt and pepper to get down in tbere and I think next time I'll put the parmesan in with it. The garlic worked well and I think Im gonna try what @Geezer is doin with the cheese at the end.
This is a simple recipe that an be played with until you literally have hundreds of ways to do them.

Not sure I can throw em that far....try someone local :p
If you cinch the bullet in a vice, point it in my direction and hit the primer with a punch...

When our 9mm arrives I’ll bring ya a few empties!
