Trying to gauge interest, availability, and participation for all members but especially those on the Western side of the state from the I-77 corridor. The potential time frames in mind are mid-fall of this year and the late spring of next year. Everything is open to suggestions; time, venue, location, activities, duration, etc.

If this thread develops an appropriate degree of promise, I'll ask the Admins or Mods to sticky it.
 
We did this a couple years ago with me, Heron and Windini being the only ones to show up in Asheville. I'm game for another one!
 
I live in Raleigh but enjoy driving and as long as I am off from the p/t job I am interested.
 
Alright! I'm thrilled to see the interest that's already been shown!

All of you for whom availability will be on the basis of scheduling, could you please PM me with the particulars of your availability for the Fall? That would help me get an idea of how best to schedule an event.

I will also need volunteers for various tasks, and if you're so inclined, please let me know via PM. If you want to sponsor or direct a specific task or event, please let me know so I can begin itemizing and organizing.

I'm a big fat maybe/hopefully depending on work, wife, kids, and life. I have a mostly empty house with a large deck and about 6 acres near West Jefferson. If it works out I'd be happy to host a cookout, campout or fire pit session. Not a lot of beds in the house, but plenty of open floor space. Plenty of fire wood too. And plenty of hammock camping space on the property. One area decent for tents, but it is a slight slope. I woke up on the bottom of my tent last time
I set up there. But that may have been the beer.
 
Saturdays in the Fall are pretty busy for me. Leaves, IDPA, Rugby, etc. Could we shoot for a Sunday afternoon?
 
At this point, I need a better understanding of how to accommodate folks' schedules. I can't really do much without an understanding of your schedule, thus my request for PMs with schedule details.

I will try to reiterate this more clearly;

I can't effectively accommodate your schedule if I don't know it. PM me particulars if your schedule is restricted so I can better determine how to make this event accessible for as many folks as possible.

That's really the only way to do it. You'll never get a date that works for everybody.

And the earlier the date is set, the easier it is for people to plan.

You can't effectively plan a date if it's not going to work for most people, which is why I'm trying to determine availability, to get the most possible participation. I don't have any problem setting a date, but if I can set one that best suits the majority of willing participants, that's my goal.

If you are going for Fall check the school schedules and maybe the Football schedule. Those things tend to drive a lot of Fall events.
