It looks like zinc or something. Or unfinished.
On the SAM5.
Arsenal thing perhaps?
I don’t remember it looking like this when I got it. Maybe I just didn’t pay attention.
Thoughts?

Looks just like my SAM5. And my SAM7. And my stamped Arsenal guns. It's just the finish.

If it bugs you, knock it off with a flathead screwdriver and hit it with some Krylon.

You think at the price point for these they would give a shit about what they look like, probably not gonna spray paint this one

They don't, and they haven't for probably forever. Arsenal finish issues go back as long as Americans have been able to buy Arsenal AKs.

It's just one of the many idiosyncrasies of the AK world.

When I finally snagged an SLR-104FR I cried. Unfortunately my tears dripped on the gun and completely stripped the finish... </s>

Kinda weird my cheap Romys (and I mean like $1500-$2000 guns so not so cheap but cheaper than my arsenals) I would throw in the mud and leave in the rain but not these 🧐
