The Subaru dealer who is two hours away told me about 30 days, and that DMV would send it directly to me. Been about five weeks.

I’m accustomed to the dealers receiving the tag from DMV and having to send it to me (or me pick it up), but some of that is old news.

Some dealers use third party tag companies, I got my tag three weeks after buying the SUV used from Hertz. Then I paid the tax at DMV and got a 12 month sticker.

Yep, I’m expecting it to a have that “T” sticker, till I get square on the property tax.

I didn’t know some are farming it out now. Good to know. I wonder how that works?

5 weeks is the point at which I would be concerned, but I see temp tags well past 2 months out on the road.

It took me 6 weeks from VA DMV to NC DMV. I think the dealer uses third party. I had to call twice to get things moving.

Got back from lunch and I have a UPS delivery attempt sticker on my front door, for a package I was not expecting and unaware of, saying that they are taking my delivery to a "UPS store to keep it secure” that is 100 yards from where I just ate lunch. Apparently signature required.

It originated and was shipped from Raleigh yesterday.

I bet it’s the plate. What happened to just mailing the dang thing? DMV does.

Must be some third party shenanigans.
