see pic. I don’t check it as often as I should. It runs once a week for five minutes every week. Serviced annually by the installer in fall.

22KW air cooled V twin Generac

Any ideas? I keep the cabinet locked so I don’t know how water would have gotten in it. Condensation?

I’ve had this thing close to two years and this is the first I’ve noticed this.

But I don’t know what else it could be either.

is the oil high?
Propane?
What gas? E no E

If E gas then it will suck water in.
It can settle out and depending on level of the carb could leak some into the case.

Same thing happens to boats. Mostly the 4 strokes.

I’m looking at reconfiguring the automatic exercise schedule, and setting the length of the exercise cycle is not even an option. 5 minutes is default. I can schedule how often it cycles, but not for how long.

But I can also manually activate the generator for as long as I like.

I got bored and looked up the manual. It looks like excersize length of time is fixed. Lame.

natural gas

I’m on an annual service contract with the installer. I’m going to get on the schedule to get it serviced soon.

Somethings not right. My Generac self starts every other Saturday, switches over power, and runs for 20 or 30 minutes (I forget the time lol).

It’s right in the manual. 5 minutes. I can change the frequency, but not the duration.

Makes me wonder if there is moisture in the NG line.
Could have been a cut and repair in the area adding in the moisture.
If it never did it before and only this one time......

Haven’t watched this yet, but I have a wifi enabled generator that updates a Generac app on my phone. I can run the generator manually from the phone, and also see all the history, any error codes, etc.
The Genmon will let you change the exercise time.

Pardon me Fieldgrade,
Get your toolbox out & roll up your sleeves.
Just pretend it’s a Harley Generator.
Put some SYN 3 in it.
Upgrade to Stage 1 Sceamin’ Eagle kit
Intake…. more airflow…more power !
Exhaust…2 into 1
Tuner…Gotta calibrate it.
Do you ”exercise” your Harley for 5 minutes, once a week ?

If this has not been an issue for over a year perhaps the cabinet has a hole or some other way to let moisture in.

But also running for 30 minutes once a month should help.

It is in fact a 1000cc air cooled VTwin. I have a virtual Sportster powering my house during power outages.

And during the first outage, (6 hours) it had a loose oil line fitting from the factory and leaked oil all over the place. What could be more appropriate.
