As I was frying up trout fillets, I thought I would propose this question..

IMO… House Autry Seafood Breader is the tops! That is some good stuff on fish, for sure. I also like Zatarain’s.

Maybe there are some others I need to look into… whatcha got CFF??

Not sure if they make it anymore, but growing up we used Adluh fish breading mix. Loved that stuff.

Is there any other besides House-Autry?

I'll use Louisiana brand if I can't find the moss. I like house Autry for the hush puppies. Of course they all need to be doctored up a little to get the best final product

Where do you get Moss? I haven’t seen it in my local stores. Wouldn’t mind giving it a try.
Moss products are made right up the road from me in Kittrell, NC by Buffalo Milling. I checked their website and they sell through several big box store. Check the bottom of the pages on the following link:

Their chicken breader is the absolute best, I’ve eaten and cooked a lot with House Autry, but Moss has become my go to. Lighter, less heavy or thick if that makes sense.

Okay going off the reservation but I caught a mahi-mahi yesterday and the chef used panko as the breadper. Best fried fish ever!

Panko works great… but I am more than positive your experience was based on that Mahi you caught. Mahi is one of THE best fish out there and more so when it is freshly caught … regardless of how it is fixed! Congrats on the catch!

Maybe…. But e also grilled part of it and the fried was better… and normally I prefer grille. But I think part of it was hot fresh oil, and freshly caught fis. 5 hours from hook to plate
