Empty bottles make me sad..... Cheers anyway!

Holy crap son! That's quite a pour. Enjoy!
This snow and ice stresses me out. I own a small business and have to make the call about closings and delays and my employees safety. So I may have been a little heavy handed on that pour.....Hope you are well AD!

They call it Hard Chard, which I affectionately call “Hard Shart” because it makes me giggle. It has just the right blend of crisp, sweet, and dry. Yes, I’m a light weight compared to what most of you fellas are drinking.

I like where your head's at. But I have to admit to a bit of counter top envy. ;)

How was that Ardbeg? Never had that one....

The Corryvreckan is probably my favorite of the Ardbeg offerings I have tried so far, but that is not saying a lot. Ardbeg just doesn't do it for me so far. The peat is on the back end. The front end is smooth. I don't like smooth. I like for the front end to be loaded as well as the back. At least with alcohol and salt if nothing else until I can catch up to the peat.

I keep dancing around Laphroaig to make sure I am not missing out on anything. But I think Laphroaig is where I am happiest. Especially the 10 year Cask Strength.

Although I have surprisingly fell in love with one called Old Pulteney 12. It's one that my buddies who don't like peat (no names here geek LOL) and I can both enjoy.

So here shortly I'll be on a mission to stock up on Laphroaig and Pulteney and weed out some of these experiments like Ardbeg and Talisker.
I think I am gonna keep some of the anCnoc Cutter on hand too. It's made the cut (LOL!).

What did you think of that one?

I really like it. That and Woodford's Reserve Rye are probably my 2 favorites. Although I haven't gotten crazy and splurged at higher price levels. They seem to be in my happy place. Although the Mrs thinks maybe my happy place should be much cheaper.

Thanks for the reply! I think you’d like The Lore from Laphroaig. I’ve had the Old Pulteney but have been unable to find a replacement. Cheers!

The Cask Strength is where it's at! I really need to get another bottle of that. Or a case. Whatever.

Port Charlotte “Heavily Peated”. No picture. Too deeply involved to take pictures.....

Hard to go wrong with any Laphroaig. I've had the 10 y/o, the Quarter Cask & the Triple Wood. Would love to try the Lore & the cask strength Cairdeas Quarter Cask.

@thrillhill - something else you may enjoy is the Glenlivet Nadurra. Not peaty at all, but aged 16 years in bourbon barrels & bottled cask strength. Golden nectar from heaven, my friend.

I haven't been drinking much lately, actually. My likker cabinet is overflowing & I need to make some room. Just might hafta lay a bottle of Bushmills 21 to rest tonight.

Try the Lore. You will be glad. I could come over to help with the likker.....

BudLight......but I fancied it up with a camo koozie to make it uppity.

Went to the Angier ABC to see Shirley. Was going to buy some Lore by Laphroaig. Was spooked by the $135 price tag. Remembered really liking the Bowmore for almost exactly 1/2 that price. Shirley told me I needed to try the Buffalo Trace cream. She only received one case and had 2 bottles left. “Why sure. I’ll try some” I’ll report back. Cheers!
