Sounds like you need a Ford F150.... Lol

Hope all comes out well. ALL manufacturers have stupid designs on certain things to save them a penny!!!

I have a 2014 F150 Ecoboost 4x4. Traded a piece of crap 2006 F250 diesel (that went to the shop literally every year since bought it in 2010) in on it in early 2015. Had 2 Chevy's before the 250. I say I have a F150, but my wife will tell you it is hers. I bought the Silverado from Copart to pull my lawn mower trailer when I cut grass as a side job. My brother looked at it for me and did not let it warm up enough while checking it out. Bearings are wore out and the oil pressure drops when it warms up. Previous owner abused the crap out of it. And I do mean abused. Going to drive it until the motor blows then have a used one put in it. A used motor is cheaper than another payment.

Regarding the passenger side blend door actuator, this is what I am referring to:

did you trade it in at kernersville dodge?

I made a modular table top workspace to fit on my folding saw horses.

I really like these saw horses since they're sturdy and I can break them down to the size of a small beam and hang them on the wall. To date I've just taken rand scraps of plywood to make a work area but they move all over the place and have to be clamped down.

I got a single sheet of 15/32" OSB and a 2x2. I cut 3 27x44 pieces and 8" long 2x2 cleats, if you will, to fit snugly around the saw horse and inside the 2x4's along the side, as seen in the 2nd pic. No need to clamp the top down, no shifting, goes together easily, and they can nest together to only take up 27x44x4.5". I'll likely make a simple on wall storage contraption later in the week. Can't complain for under $20!

Those really are not that bad compared to most. It is not uncommon on a lot of cars to have to remove the entire dash steering columb and all to work on the vents and change evap and heater cores. Dashes just suck period.

Done bearings and brakes there also.

If the major auto parts stores would put in service bays for rent think of the amount of time we could save.

Yeah, that would be great. For those who rent, rental agreements often prohibit auto maintenance work on premises, so the ability to rent a bay next to the auto parts store where I'm buying items would be value-added.

Plus, it's a way to differentiate and compete with Amazon. If the only service the store offers is parts, well, increasingly that can be had from Amazon at cheaper prices as Amazon is growing out its auto parts inventory.

I hate working on cars in tne yard. You'll make three more trips.to the.parts.store before you are finnished. Happens every time. So might as well fix the vehicle there so we make only one trip.

No garage, so I swapped out my car's starter in an auto parts store's parking lot.
Did they also loan you their tools? [emoji23]

Back in the day I owned a 78 Corolla (E31 sedan) with the 75hp Toyota 2T-C engine. Bulletproof doesnt start to describe them. The car was purchased as my wintertime ride since I was on a bike for the rest of the year.
This was about circa 1996....my early 20s.
So I was persuing this one chick who lived in a town about 20 mi away, and had enough gas to get there and maybe $20 to my name. Went and scooped her in my sweet ride...all of a sudden the steam pours out from underhood. I stopped once to fill the radiator and see its coming from the engine. We made it to the top of the hill and the temp gauge started going up. I coasted that sucker into the autozone parking lot about 4 blocks away, borrowed enough money from her to get a water pump, borrowed their tools and RTV, filled it with water and continued on.
Never got the payoff and never paid her back lol.

Installed power steering on my SXS tonight. About 3.5 hour job that could have been 2, if the instructions were worth a dang.
Just have to clean up the wires to be done.

Yesterday I replaced the heat and ac door actuator on the work truck that I mentioned above. It was a PITA. Taking the top of the dash off was easy. I was able to get the right side screw out of the old one. Thank God my wife has small hands. If it wasn't for her I would have had to cut the duct work. With her help (actually she took the old one out except for one screw and put the new one in) we got it done. Works like it should now. Got done with that then I replaced the center spindle of one of the mowers. Much easier to do than the actuator on the truck was.

Painted our old refrigerator. It use to be almond and it didn't match anything else in the kitchen. Our microwave died a couple weeks ago so we went to Lowe's to get a replacement and the girl there was trying to help us pick one out. She asked what color our refrigerator was "Black or stainless"? My wife replied almond. I think I detected a dry heave from the sales girl. That clenched it. We were either going to buy a new fridge or paint the one we have. Wife went with option #2. Turned out OK. Still need to get some plastic paint and do the top hinge covers.

Put a bunch of 2x4's and drywall in it. Fixin to start working on the unfinished basement. Wired a couple outlets done there today, and might glue the blue board up tomorrow.

So there ARE people out there still with bisque and almond appliances. I work for an appliance company and handle spare parts/accessories; while reviewing some items I see a bunch of bisque/almond parts and think to myself who the heck buys this stuff???! Sadly, bisque is just finally being discontinued after 2017, should've been dead 20yr ago.

I'm waiting for green to make a comeback

Yeah, it could have been avocado, harvest gold, coral or teal. Those were once popular too. Our fridge is over 20 years old but it keeps on going. No need to get rid of it until it's no longer repairable of which it hasn't needed a single thing. So we give it a little sprucing up to make it fit in. But it did remind me of how much I hate painting. Don't have the patience for it. I got the plastic paint and now the top hinge covers match the rest of it. Project complete.

Don't forget Copper, ranked up there with Avacado.

Cranked the Cobra, and took one of my sons for a spin. It was a good day.

changed the air filter in the Passat today. VW recommends an air filter every 60K miles, Fram recommends every 12K....the one that was factory was a Wix. Walmart has alot of oil, air, and cabin filters on clearance due to packaging changes btw. This includes the $20 cartridge style oil filters that many Germanic cars require. Got one for my son's Jetta (actually bought 3) for $8 each. List price is over $16. Also snagged a couple of 5 qt containers of Mobil 1 0W40 'euro' synthetic at $22.8x

Finally got the upgraded turbo rebuilt and installed in the old 7.3. Rebuilding and installation was a breeze, removing the old one was an adventure.

Got the 5KW generator up and running today. Had to replace the fuel tank shutoff grommet and change the oil. It's got a low oil shut off and it took a bit more than a quart to bring it up to where it would start.

Also fired up the 2.5KW generator just to be sure.

My sister gave me a walk behind brush cutter. Had not been started in a long while. Some carb parts and fuel line and it runs great. Found the .155 trimmer line at the hardware store.

Ready to cut.

organized some ammo onto the shelves yesterday

Did some performance engine and drive train tuning on an exotic today. Sparkplug, filter, line holder, and line feed button. The tune up lowered my CPS (cusses per start) and zero to edged time by 10 minutes.20171001_101451.jpg

On Saturday, I replaced the window regulator in my wife's E46 (again) before heading out of town for a firearm related trade.

Yesterday was, sadly, a much belated cleaning day. 6 lever guns, 2 bolt guns and a 1911, all taken down to the last screw. I enjoyed the Rossi model 92 the least, and I need to take it apart again because the action is so rough that i’d Stuck it back inure safe and forgotten it.

On Friday @foopid stucker helped me get the Jeep hardtop lift installed in the garage, now the wife can take her own top off whenever she likes.

With this incredibly crappy weather (but we do need the rain) organizing my 5'6" X9' reloading closet in my garage for at least the 3rd time this year. Moving long guns out, taking pictures of them, writing detailed descriptions and recording serial numbers (long overdue).

Was going to piddle with my pulling tractor today, but it was raining on and off….so I figured Id work on those old shoddy looking emblems. Heres a few pics. Need to clean them up a little when they dry, but they turned out pretty good, given new ones are $50 a piece.

Stood under a 2003 Wrangler and thought to myself for the 100th or so time that I can't understand why someone would buy a used car without getting it checked out first. Then wondered again why they get it checked out after they buy it. I guess some people just like getting bad news. SMH.
