What did you do in the reloading room today?

I hear from some people that they love them and some people say they are junk.

How is it?

I have been thinking about getting one myself
I've only loaded 3 primer tubes but it was a breeze. I would say it takes close to a tenth of the time to load a tube. Just pull the trigger and go.

If you pull off the pick up end of your dillon tubes they'll fit directly into the VP adapters. Stupid easy.

I'll report back after loading up a few thousands primers to see how it's holding up.

Loaded 150 44 Special using 240 LSWC over 6.3 gn of Unique
100 44 Magnums using 240 LSWC over 23.0 gn of 296
100 44 Magnums using Hornady 265 Grn Soft point over 22.1 of 296

There is a lot of bullet stuffed in a case using the 265 gn bullet.

Restocked my shelves. At the gun show in Raleigh, I picked up 2 pounds of H335, 1 pound of the new IMR Target powder, 2000 small pistol primers, 1000 large pistol primers, 1000 CCI #41 primers, and 1000 Hornady 55sp bullets.

Deprimed and wet tumbled a few hundred 380 brass. Waiting on an order of cast bullets for them to arrive.

Loaded the last 50 or so 9mm bullets in the pack I'd opened.

Picked up another box of primers. I went to Raleigh yesterday to visit the grandkids and stopped by Cabela's on the way home. They had S&B primers for $19.99/1000, but only had 1 box of small pistol in stock. Now they don't have any. (Still had several boxes of other types, though.)

Since my guns have been running flawlessly and my loads have been consistent, time to change to a new load.

Switching to 200gr Blues.

What powder are you planning on using? What charge weight?

Cleaned my bench up tonight. Mounted my single stage back to the bench for rifle brass prep. I've been collecting components to load .223 for about 5 years. Time I load a few thousand. Gonna start this week

Turned these .243s into...

.. went out and made them look like these.....

No more Arisaka bulge on the brass .....now to get my trim to length settled along with a COL. Then to process another 100 or so .243 cases..

50 rounds of 223 using Varget and Hornady 55sp bullets. 9mm test loads using BE86 and RMR 124gn JHP bullets. Finished off a pound of Shooters World "Auto Pistol" powder making 350 rounds of 9mm.

Toprudder, I am sold on Auto Pistol for 9 MM

It is almost identical to AA#5, which works really well. The Clean Shot powder is close to AA#2. The Shooters World powders are just not as widespread as others, though. I've pretty much standardized on a few powders, BE86 and Power Pistol are my current favorites for 9mm, depending on the use. BE86 is, for me, the most versatile powder for the calibers I shoot. But if powder gets scarce again, I won't hesitate to buy Auto Pistol!

I have tried a LOT of different pistol powders, and I still have several to try. But, that is the fun part for me.

The boys are getting to an age where putting a key on a shelf won't deter them and I've got some renovations planned that will require contractors coming through the house. Added this lock today. Took about 5 minutes and seems to work effectively. As any lock, it's only as strong as the door, so it won't deter a thief with time on his hands, but will keep a casual contractor from peeking in and keep the boys out.

I loaded up 300 more of the alpha seeking 40 minor loads.
180 gr coated bullet under 2.9 gr claydot seated at 1.175 oal.

Did a little work to my presses. First, I dusted off my RCBS Summit and installed the arbor press mod kit. That was so I can use my new Wilson chamber style seater die.

Then I setup another turret for my Lee press, with 357mag dies. Now I have one turret for 38spl and one for 357mag (with the collet style crimp die).

I bought an extra Lee Auto drum powder measure, so I don't have to swap when I switch between pistol and 223.

Today I actually got to spend some quality time with my equipment. The result was 1200 rounds of "Charlie's Almost Average Bullets" in 9mm and now one less box of Blue Bullets and Primers on the shelf.

Amazing how tidy the place looks with all of that brass off of the bench even if the wife can't believe it took me three hours and that was all the "cleaning up" I was able to accomplish.

All the pretty colors...oooooohhhh.

I've been working on figuring out what I ordered (projectile wise) over the last several months. Moving them from bags to storage containers.

Biggest complaint is some of the companies have a nice label on the bag, and some don't. Had to log into a couple websites just to figure out what I actually ordered.

I know it's a little thing, and fairly inexpensive, but it makes a big difference. I ended up making some of my own using a pic from their websites.

I post a pic or two up once I get them all sorted into containers.

Took the daughter shooting the other day, went through about 500 rounds, so today I loaded up most of my final 1,000 zombies in 9mm.

Have gotten some blues and some reds in try as replacements.

New toy arrived this week, a neck turning lathe. Set it up and turned 50 pieces of .243 to get acquainted with it. Great tool so far; holding 0.25 thousandths. Can't wait to get them to the range and see what it does for grouping, but that will have to wait.

As with all things shooting, there is always a "but". Had to order a new neck sizing bushing because I didn't have one tight enough. A smart man would have checked this and turned to match his smallest bushing. Of course I have seldom been accused of being smart, at least not by anyone that I thought was smart!!!

Deprimer and tumbled 6k pieces of 9mm, at least I won't have to do it again for a while.

After doing an OCW work up for my AR-15 with a 20" 1-9 barrel, with 69 gr SMK. I went out today and put the load over the chrony and set my 100 yard zero. I'm loading with LC brass, 25.5 Varget, 69 SMK, CCI primers, getting and average group size .69 MOA for 5, 5 shots groups at 100 yards. My average velocity was 2852 fps, StdDev was 12.4. This is a keeper load for this gun.

Went to the range today and turned the rest of my 9mm reloads from a couple weeks ago into empty brass. I said I wasn't going to reload any more 9mm for a while, but I might load up the 125 gr Zombies I have left.

Also shot some 38 Special SWCs I had loaded in my LCR, had another squib, and may have ruined the gun trying to get it out. Need to find someone who knows how to work on it. I only have about 25 or 30 of that batch left. I'm thinking of just breaking them down and loading them again. I must have been distracted or something when I was making them, that's the second squib in the 25 or 30 that I've shot.

Oh, yeah... I also tried out some 98 grain .380s I loaded in my P3AT and my wife's Bersa. They worked great in both guns and were a little easier on my hand in the KelTec than factory loads, so I'm going to load a bunch of them up.

Well, not today, but over the weekend I worked up test loads of .223, total of 50 rounds, using CFE223 and Hornady 55SP bullets. I also loaded up 100 rounds of 45acp using 700x and Xtreme 200FP, 300 rounds of 45acp using 700x and RMR 200 RN, and 300 rounds of 9mm using RMR 115 HMRN and BE-86.
