What did you do in the reloading room today?

Worked up some ladder loads for my 308. CFE223 starting at 46.6gr and up by 0.2gr to 47.6 grains. I can go as high as 49.0gr but I'd like to see what lower does first. These are for 168gr BTHP Hornady's

image.jpg Set up my gear to process some .221 fireball lastnight.
Had to do a caseectomy out of the die, so gave up and went inside to watch TV

Wow, an actual workshop. Boy am I jealous. I was happy my wife let me convert a 6 by three foot spot in the shed. I've gotten used to the no electricity but the heat is a bit overwhelming.

Yea. I thought my 8x12 insulated shed with heat and air was nice until I saw @Mirac setup. Very, very nice

Very lucky to have a 24x32 garage.
Trying to get Half set up for wood working and home repair the other half for gun fun and wood project assembly.
Right now, It's more a cluttered garage with woodworking tools and lawn and garden/storage/ garbage dump.
Just setting the reloading in the middle of it till these are done.

Annealed about a 100 rounds of 6.5 CM brass using a candle. Seems to work fine. Took a little over 30 minutes.

Finally getting the hang of my Lee Load Master, punched out 100 rounds yesterday + the few I shot, did the same today, + a mag I shot and a Mag my sopn shot. I'm finally getting it. Next on my want list is a Chrono!

Loaded up some bluez......

Looks like the case mouth is damaged on the one cartridge.

It is. These are 4-5 time reloads. Had a bunch of split necks and bulged shoulders. ( those were tossed)
The next round , I'm sure most of these won't make.
I need to perfect making brass from .223 cases. The RemPeters cases are getting espensive.

well, it wasn't today, but, yesterday. I got my Lee universal depriming die in the mail, put it in the first whole of my Load master, took the pin out of my resizing die, moved it to the 2nd hole. Back up to yesterday morning, trying to run some ammo, and I must have had the shell plate of a dozen times due to jam ups, no priming, lodged cases. IF it could go wrong, it did! Now, after changing the die set up, and adding the new die, I ran a bunch with only one issue, which I could "feel" primer in sideways. Which I think was probably a primer pocket issue. Very much happier with the function now. Time to buy more bullets!

Cranked out 200 147 blues for mid week practice. 200 perfect rounds. All passing the gauge.

The SDP just keeps cranking along. I swear a meteor could land on it and it will continue to throw 3.2 grains of titegroup until the end of time!
I always throw a charge to weigh it prior to loading, but it's pointless.

SDP & Shockbottle hundo: the shiznit.

Was having issues with light, or rather, lack there of. So ordered a LED kit and took a few mins and put it on. LOVE IT! Plug and play, $21 shipped! And, was a day early on

The new Browning 1911-380 is very picky about cartridge length. I pulled about 200 rounds of various ammo that I had previously loaded for the P238 that I'll be selling soon. Then put together 80 ladder loads at new C.O.A.Ls to run over the chrony tomorrow.

I hate pulling bullets... But the 238 has been thoroughly cleaned for its sale and I didn't want to dirty it up. Probably would have been easier to just shoot what I had and load new stuff.

Loading up some 60grn vmax for my AR as I just got added on a depredation permit for a friend's farm. Was out yesterday evening and there were 11 nice ones including 3 bucks just hanging out...all within 200 yds.

I coated 2700 9mm yesterday. I guess that counts as the reloading room.

100 rounds of .380
50: 90gn XTPs clocked @ 1083fps out of a 4.25" Browning 1911-380.

50: 90gn Sierra "custom" (some Midway crap they had on sale awhile back) clocked @ 1010fps from same pistol. They look like little 380 flying ashtrays, I wish I had the means to do ballistic testing on them. They look mean. They'll do for hiking ammo though.

EDIT:
Found a guy that did some testing in 10% gel. The Sierra expands nicely! He didn't get ideal penetration, but he ran it out of a G42. I'd imagine I'm getting a little more velocity than he is.

I loaded some more test rounds of 460 S&W. 200, 240, and 300gn bullets using N-110 and 1680 powder. 48gn of powder in a handgun cartridge is scary.

Dang, I'm only putting 17 grns in my little .221 fireballs.. And half comes out as a flame, hence 'fireball'

Yeah, that might scare me a bit too. My 135gn bullets in 10mm might get like 11 or 12gn with whatever powder I'm using. I'd imagine I'll be in a similar boat when I get around to loading 44mag. Just not as much powder.

Loaded up some sledgehammers.
14.5gn of aa1680 behind a 203gn palmetto bullet between 2.00-2.025.
They are cheap bullets so the length beets quite a bit.

Will that stay under subsonic? With 14 grns. I've read most are running 10-11 grns.
Or you are not trying for that? What veloc. Are you looking for with that much 1680 ?

They are to be supers.
A lot of people load for subs but I like the hard hitting 308 in a compact size.

These rounds pack quite a punch.

Ah ! I bet they do. Never messed with or even touched one yet.
Thanks
