Worked up some ladder loads for my 308. CFE223 starting at 46.6gr and up by 0.2gr to 47.6 grains. I can go as high as 49.0gr but I'd like to see what lower does first. These are for 168gr BTHP Hornady's
Wow, an actual workshop. Boy am I jealous. I was happy my wife let me convert a 6 by three foot spot in the shed. I've gotten used to the no electricity but the heat is a bit overwhelming.
Loaded up some bluez......
Looks like the case mouth is damaged on the one cartridge.
Where?I picked up 16k S&B small pistol primers for $19.99/k.
Cabela's.Where?
Based on the dies behind them, they appear to be .221 Fireball.what rounds are those?
Yeah, that might scare me a bit too. My 135gn bullets in 10mm might get like 11 or 12gn with whatever powder I'm using. I'd imagine I'll be in a similar boat when I get around to loading 44mag. Just not as much powder.I loaded some more test rounds of 460 S&W. 200, 240, and 300gn bullets using N-110 and 1680 powder. 48gn of powder in a handgun cartridge is scary.
Loaded up some sledgehammers.
14.5gn of aa1680 behind a 203gn palmetto bullet ]
Will that stay under subsonic? With 14 grns. I've read most are running 10-11 grns.
Or you are not trying for that? What veloc. Are you looking for with that much 1680 ?
AA1680. That is what I loaded 48.0gn of into the 460 S&W 300gn load pictured above.Loaded up some sledgehammers.
14.5gn of aa1680 behind a 203gn palmetto bullet between 2.00-2.025.
They are cheap bullets so the length beets quite a bit.
