What did you do in the reloading room today?

Started to load for this weekend's match. Made about 20 rounds and the old Loadmaster stopped working. Shell plate wouldn't rotate. Apparently if you forget to empty the spent primers they will fill up right to the shell plate LOL. I swear I just emptied it. Apparently not. Emptied them and got back at it.

400 rounds made ready for some case gauging.

I can tell you from first hand experience that Dillons suffer from this flaw as well!
LnL will hard pack them into the brass pipe and to some extent plastic tubing, before pushing the pipe right out of the subplate, you don't even know til it clanks on the floor, good times.

I broke my Lee Load Master, so, while it was down and I was waiting on the parts(they come in today) I sanded, stained and polyurethaned , my loading bench. Sorry, forgot to take the before pics, and the addition I did to it was some old plywood, it didn't turn out as nice as the main bench did. But here's my little set up.

Assuming you are using the spent primer cup and not a chute, wouldn't dead primers eventually stack up inside the track and to the shell plate?
Never happened with me, since I never forgot to empty the cup when I added another tube of primers. But, looking at the design, I think primers would start falling out of the top of the cup before they jammed up under the shellplate. Anyway, kind of a moot point with me as I do all my decapping on my LCT now.

I had a primer get stuck in a pickup tube, had to beat it out with a clothes hanger.

I went from a Lee single stage,to a Lee turrent and finally a Lee Loadmaster. Spent two days getting it set up. Finally got it to run,ran about 200 rounds through it and broke the primer rocker in two. Good times.

Yep, but on the good side, Call Lee 262 673 3075 And they will help you in ordering the parts as in the part number you'll need. You will have to go to Lee site and order them. No cost, just pay for the shipping. However, the parts cost less than the shipping. When I did this, the sent me two of the rockers so it it happens again, I will have a back up. They also sent me directions in email on how to refit the new parts, and another email showing me how to set up the primer seating so as to not break another. I had loaded about 1200 rounds before I broke mine

That's probably the route I should have gone. I went to TITAN reloading and placed an order for a few things. Should have the stuff Wed.

I have the tube on my LnL AP going into a can hung on my reloading bench leg.. never overflows...

made 200 or so 300blk cases then turned them into 110gn over 19gn h110

they are screamers for sure :D

Yeah, mine was going into a quart container with lid, issue was it went down into it an inch or so, primers pile to the end of the tube and eventually stopped falling out.

It's in a gallon milk jug now, if nothing else rounds between failures should be greater. Chances of me being more attentive to the trash are slim. If I ever get my press where I think it will stay I'll secure the tube so there's a slight gap between tube and catch container.

Ahh gotcha....mine drops in then turns at about a 45deg angle with a 2" drop into the can... no way to clog the tube unless the can is completely full....

I processed a TON of .223/5.56 brass, culling pieces that were beyond serviceable (large dents/dings/cracked necks, etc), prepping, polishing and bagging the remainders.

Thought I was all done and then I find a grocery sack full of brass I collected at the last match I shot.

It never ends.

Loaded up 600 .40's. Have to case gauge but sold my gauge in anticipation of the new one being here. Well it's not. Guessing held up due to Harvey as it's shipping out of TX. Looks like I get to barrel check them all.

Made some of these:

Then "honed" the sizer out another .001". May get 'em coated tonight, humidity might pose a problem.
Should have more than enough once that's done to finish loading up for the state match.
Hopefully going fatter doesn't hurt accuracy. At .3555 I had the most accurate 9mm loads I've ever shot, and the worst leading I've ever seen.

Over the weekend:
Made the last lucky 13 batch of 500 45 acp

Made the last batch of RMR 9mm 125 LRN about 400 or so if those.

200 300 blk 110g supers

Cleaned about 1000 223 cases, sized and trimmed about 500 of those.

Coated and sized 400, not the prettiest, that red is getting very inconsistent in its old age.
IIo94GQ.jpg

Load 'em up tonight over 3.3gr of ClayDot if all goes well.
With the 250 already loaded should be good to go.

Crimped 100 #11 caps so they will fit my Spiller & Burr. No one has #10 locally so this will have to do. Seems to work well.

Finally got my 650 mounted and setup after having it about 6 months. Loaded 1200 9mm so far. I really need a casefeeder....

Loaded the last 500 of my 9mm 124gr L13 pills, and in the process forgot to pin the stupid little pin in one primer tube...so I got to do some bending and stretching.

Also loaded the first 300 9mm 120gr TC, they are coated red but I can't recall where they came from. Loaded the first few dozen long and actually stuck one in the barrel, a first for me.

Deprimed about 900 9mm and started them in the wet tumbler, the popped the primers out of a 100 .243 and dropped them in the vibratory cleaner, and spent an hour looking for my 5.56 case holder to knock the primers out of those. Never found it, but now the bench is clean and the drawers semi-organized. Now I wait for round two.

After doing a few hours of yard work an making a couple new tarps for the mower and wood pile I spent the rest of the evening out in the reloading shack processing brass an making up a couple hundred rds. of 9mm and 45 ACP with a couple new NOE bullets I had PC'ed. I will be trying out some Hodgdon CFE pistol in the 45 ACP with some 220 gr. HP's I PC'ed a month or so ago.there probably going to expand much be a little on the hard side around 10 BHN but I can deal with that later on my next batch I cast. Need to loads up some of my new 215 gr. FN cast bullets for the Mosin as well, maybe today or sometime this week.

So I finally worked up a load for my 6.8 that shows a lot of promise for the hunting season.

S&B Brass
CCI#41 primer
28.5grs of RL 10x
110gr Accubond
COAL -2.265
FPS- 2600 +/- 20fps

I have been slacking so hard this summer it's unbelievable. I did manage to purchase some more stuff (that's the problem) to enable this addiction. It's about time to start casting again.
Got 600 pieces of mostly Fed and LC once-fired .308 cases for around .12 each. This puts me squarely in the 'need to get on it' category for this cartridge and my new AR10.
Bought 2 molds and the weather is cooling off, so I am looking to build a dedicated casting bench maybe in garage.
