What did you do in the reloading room today?

65lb of ingots later. I'm not gonna count them, but this should be around 2,300 boolits. That pile is almost 3" deep.

Discovered yesterday that 2 - 3 of the cavities of the 6 cavity mold throw an oversize and out-of-round bullet. They measure 0.452 parallel to the parting line, 0.459 perpendicular to the PL. They are so oversized that I'm damaging my press trying to force them thru the sizing die. Since I AIN'T gonna mike every bullet, looks like they'll all go back in the casting pot. Three hours wasted. Oh well.

I sent the mold back to Lee, along with an unsized bullet and a couple of sized bullets so they can see how bad they are. I'm hoping they'll send a new mold.
Ouch... Note to self: check all my molds before mass casting session...

I loaded 2k rounds of 124gr 9mm round noses for competition and practice in the STI guns we shoot. The Dillon 1050 with Mark 7 made it easy, just fed it materials, :)
I hate you...

Just getting into some reloading and i got my tumbler put together and setup. I know is not much but I am getting there.

Enjoy the baby steps, in a year you'll be asking about a second or third press and about storage for the extra brass you've accumulated.

This is a very true statement. I processed brass last night and I'm going to have to expand my storage area for brass.

^^^truth right there. Went from ziplocs to coffee cans to 5 gal buckets in a short period of time.

Ha! I've been talking about using 5 gal buckets. I'm on the coffee can stage right now.

I did that with the first batch of 250 that I cast from that mold. Those were a touch large, but sized fine. Not really sure what happened to the mold on this large batch. Both faces were clean so no lead build-up holding them apart.

The cold bullets would fit back into the cavities if I matched parting lines, but not if I turned them 90deg. I've not had this problem with any of my other molds. I'm curious to see what Lee says.

Well, since I got the bench built a week ago, the press was mounted yesterday and I had a friend come over and get everything with the press set up and ready to reload 45s.
Prior to him coming over, I went through a few rounds and deprimed.

Used those to make a couple dummy rounds (used primers) so I could see how it all operates.

Still have things to get & organize, more shelves probably too.
And, yea, I'm gonna have to add "Painting that room" to my To-Do list.

Pickle buckets are cheap at Firehouse, and they smell delicious :p
I'm not there yet, well except .223.

Spent the wee hours of the morning fixing up 5 40S&W loads (American Select, Red Dot, and Bullseye) with the 190 I'm too stubborn to take advice on, to try when the weekend comes around again, if I don't end up working

Yea, they all didn't come out like the left piece of brass. That one was a mess-up.

Looks great, color doesn't even offend me.
If I may offer a bench suggestion.
If you were to screw pieces of 1/2" thick plywood, the bigger the better, to the outside of the back and sides the bench would become much more rigid.
Consider adding an outlet above the bench, just run it up from below. Can never have too many outlets.
What are your plans for shelving and lighting?

An outlet above the bench? LOLOL. I don't do anything related to electrical stuff, so that probably isn't happening.
Shelving & such? I have no idea yet, but know I will need shelves of some sort on the walls.
It is a work in progress and as it comes along, I'll figure out and ask questions. :)

Lighting...yea, I definitely need more/better lighting than what is provided. It's not nearly bright enough.

Got in a box of 500 240gr Keiths, sized .411" from Rimrock Bullets. Got 500pcs of Starline .41 brass on the way, as well.

Got the temporary mount in place for the loadmaster. After several hours of adult language discovered I had either a bad expanding plug or die and finally got the powder to drop consistently. Then got the alignment corrected. Pushed out about twenty rounds and now need some tequila. Will resume the task tomorrow. If it goes as smoothly as the last ten rounds, will hopefully crank out a couple thousand and have a reason to revisit @lucky13 next week.

Found out the LGS just down the road has the molds for a 275gr .411 SSK. I don't cast, but they do.

Cleaned up some clutter and am in the process of organizing the basement. Next week i will hang the metal pegboard my wife got me for Christmas so i don't have to dig around a toolbox for what i need. Pictures to follow.

Still processing brass....I think I have everything decapped and ready for a final tumble. I'm finally starting to have a small surplus. I have batches of processed and unprocessed, primed and unprimed, and starting to rotate. Hording dirty brass until I have enough to fill the tumbler and move them to the next step. It gives me time to buy more primers, bullets, powder etc. I'm finally starting to have a surplus of supplies as well.

It seems like a lot of work and money but I have enough supplies that I'm no longer worried about any kind of ammo shortage. Not that I have that to worry about at least until the next administration. Hopefully by then I'll have enough of a stockpile anyway.

500 gr subsonic 458 socom. Tomorrow I am going to start load development of 300 gr. That should be a real thumper.

It's 2am, snowing and I'm in the reloading room just chucking em out.

Special thanks to Gary at "The Gun Shop" and Don at "Lucky 13" for some killer deals on powder.

The weather is going to suck this weekend so that 25# box of 223 brass order 6 months ago will start to get worked on. Plans are to do up to a 100 at a time. A couple weeks ago I did about 20# of 9 mm and wore my a$$ out tumbling and resizing them. This project (tumbling, resizing them and trimming) is going to take a couple of weeks.

Well, I would give it a go, but I'm awaiting delivery of my scale today.
Maybe when I get that, I can finally start loading some up.

I do have some 45 brass tumbled, but it's still in the media and i don't feel like taking all that outside to dump into a sifter...it's snowing some here, so getting all that wet probably isn't a good idea...

Loaded another hundred rounds of 9mm, then cleaned the press a little. Found another coffee can of 9mm brass that needs to be tumbled. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the Turret set up for some 223 goodness.

Going to load some .223 for my son later today. Then going to load some green .40's.... thanks to Don at Lucky13.

Started loading 9mm and the SDB's powder bar or funnel or something must be leaking titegroup somewhere cause it's all over the place. Maybe another cup of coffee first.

First thing I thought as well. I can feel mine, but usually can't see it, or can barely see it
