Screen cap something, then CTRL-V on a forum post. This was a viable way to add images to posts two-ish days ago, but as of mid-day Jan 3, 2023, I found I ~must~ use the attachment function to attach an already-saved and named file from my local machine AND, once done, insert that attachment as a full image wherever I want the image to appear in a post. i.e. Whatever automation used to magically do that sort of thing with a simple CTRL-V into a post in the past ... seems to have stopped working.

Notes:
* Windows 11 system w/ latest updates
* Edge v108.0.1462.54 w/ adblocker running
* No recent changes to local system
* Disabled the adblocker and the issue persisted
* Loaded a fresh browser instantiation and the issue still persisted
* CTRL-V'd the image that was previously copied into buffer .... successfully into both MS Paint and MS Word ... thereby validating it was, in fact, in the buffer ~and~ the CTRL key wasn't stuck/malfunctioning

Thoughts?

Working for me on iPad (copy and paste).

Interesting, as I didn't know iPads ran Windows 11 natively. Were you using Edge on it, too?

/sarcasm off :)

Well, that likely helps narrow to it being some sort of Interaction unrelated to iPads. Thanks for checking that.

Hmm. And here I was always using the attach files button.

I'm guessing whatever is going on, is also causing some member's images to look like broken links.

I've seen a rash of that happening, lately.

Yeah, same here. Isn't technology wonderful?

.

Thanks for helping to narrow things, guys. At least I know I'm not the only one seeing weirdness (which, by the way, I can confirm is only happening to me here).

Copy/paste & etc. works fine for me with Win 11 and Firefox.

However, I was disappointed when the forum software began only allowing full images to be inserted rather than also making thumbnails available.

So, it would appear some changes HAVE been made to the attachment/image functionality, as others have noted differences related to such, as well. At least I know I'm not going crazy...

Once the image is in the post you can resize it, if that helps.

Since people running browsers other than Edge didn't seem to be having a problem, I dug into Edge last night and manually updated from version 108.0.1462.54 to 108.0.1462.76 ... and rebooted.

Everything now works as expected (i.e. as it previously did). I post this in case someone else runs into the issue, and I thank all who provided feedback to help me narrow the problem. It seems something was amiss in that build of Edge -- which is bizarre, as there wasn't a recent update to Edge on my end. Bugs, I spose...
