What have you recently purchased that is firearms related?

Well, I don't know how to go about explaining this, I bought a Glock 22. Yep, me, the hater of anything .40 S&W. There are a few reasons that I'm using trying to convince myself for doing this. In no particular order, price, it's a Gen 2, the frame is in perfect condition, price. I received an almost full box of ammo with it when I got it, that's all the .40 ammo I have.

I have sent it back to the mothership in Smyrna to have it freshened up and the slide and barrel refinished. I thought long and hard before deciding to have it refinished. Decided to spend the $60 on it. When it comes back I'll put the 43 rounds of ammo through it. Then I'll decide if I want to buy more ammo, buy a conversion barrel, or just put it away. Here it is in all it's glory.

My SA take-offs didn't get along with my PSA frame. Probably only needed the disconnector, but oh well.

I too turned to the Glock side, refurbished Gen 3 police trade from Bud's, I like it a lot, nice stock sights and shoots great.
Get the Lone Wolf AlphaWolf in 9mm and then apply for your SBR, once approved pop the Glock into the Micro-Roni and enjoy!

I got another Glock, a G17. Here's the story, as always, I was bottom feedin' on GunBroker. I spied this one and I could tell it was probably a police trade in and I could see the serial number good enough to tell it was a 1998 year model. It had 2 magazines and the old Tupperware box.

It's got finish wear on the slide and the right side of the bottom of the grip has some rash from a seat belt in a police car. Scratched up but better than some I've seen. Left side looks pretty good. The first thing I noticed was that it was a 2 pin frame, so that, and the serial number, told me is was a very early Gen 3.

In the description it said to pay very close attention the picture of the front strap of the grip because the frame had been altered. I looked and I couldn't see anything except a little rash around the cut out at the mag well. Then I decided that they thought the cut out was the alteration. Being the very intelligent fellow that I am, I knew that the Gen 2's and very early Gen 3's had this cut out to help pull out a stuck magazine. Glock went through some changes on their magazines and got them to drop free and did away with the cut out. The picture makes it look off center but it ain't.

My Gen 2's have this cut out and the rest of my Gen 3's don't have it but they're later year models. I guess the alteration talk in the GunBroker ad must have scared the others off. I ended up getting it for less than $300 and shipping was $15.00

I have already stripped the frame and slide and all of the innards look good. I polished up all of the contact points while I was in there. I plan on shooting it this coming Sunday and I expect it to work like it should.
