What is a 5gal bucket of various brass worth?

I have a 5gal bucket of various brass case (probably a few steel mixed in) ammo of mostly 9mm/.308/5.56.

What is it worth ballpark if anything, or better off holding onto it for bartering during the apocalypse?

Say about $1.50/lb assuming you find someone reasonably close that wants it. You’ll do better to sort it, but that’s work.
 
Scrap guy won’t give you much if it’s contaminated with steel or aluminum. He then has to sort it. Needs to be culled to get the most $$ for it.

Or any live rounds. Every bucket of range brass I have gotten from a scrap metal dealer has had live rounds in it, too.
