What the?? 11.5” barrel AR with a stock...not NFA? WTH???

Maybe they are using the transgender argument. Sure it looks like an SBR but it believes it's a regular rifle so you ha e to accept and accommodate that.
Perfectly reasonable. One of my 1911's is transcaliber & identifies as both 9mm and 38 Super.

Back OT: maybe they've perfected the telescoping barrel? It exends 4.5" with every trigger pull.

That’s genius! Whole new upper, or just a barrel and bushing?

A grower not a shower?

How about a non-scare the liberals trigger that takes two pulls? A two stage, but with separate pulls? That's half a shot per trigger pull...

Does it shoot Viagra then? Not sure if it's heart would be healthy enough for this

Um, I think you have to load it with blue "bullets" before it can extend and shoot.
I've got some BH 100gr blue bullets for it!

SHOT starts tomorrow, so it shouldn't be long until we have an answer.

Straight Lands & Grooves , NO Twist

In a broad sense he needs to figure out the difference between assumptions and facts. As for his guess, even he refers to the straight lands and grooves as “rifling” almost every time.

I’d bet against him, but who knows.

If it's that simple then I can see a lot of barrel manufacturers making no twist rifled barrels in the future.

But it seems more to me that Franklin armory came up with something they could patent instead. Keep other players out of the game while they can monopolize the market.

I heard a theory that could be plausible about the fire-on-release-only possibility. The newest version of the binary was made to have a reset in the release part of their trigger. If they do a release only shot it would skirt the language and could work. Would complicate safety IMO, but whatever pisses off the man...

I don’t think that’d work, you still get a bullet when you pull the trigger, it might just be delayed somewhat. Yeah they could argue that you can pull and then manipulate something to avoid firing, but that seems to cute to have been blessed without a fight.

I can't see straight rifling being the answer. Even if it was a workaround (doubt it), making a rifle inherently less accurate to skip past NFA regulations isnt likely to generate a lot of sales outside of non nfa friendly states. Those states are very likely to make new laws to close that kind of exploit anyway.

Outdoor hub shot it today and said they have an ATF letter now...

8:30am tomorrow is the presser revealing the secret...

What are the specs on these?? Velocity, barrel restrictions, etc? I’m sure they were only produced for you Special people :D

NChunt101 got it correct. Black Hills made these 100 gr frangible loads for CQB work. Been discontinued but I left this one box of 30 here in Astan when I left last time in 14'. Still here, so I'll try them on the range next time.

My bet is everything in front of the chamber is just threaded on. Thus the whole barrel would be one "muzzle device" and because its just threaded on its not "permanent".

Anyway we should find out today.

ATF still measures from the end of the muzzle device to the breech face. Also FA states its a 11.5" bbl. We'll find out here shortly.

A firend who has spent a signficant part of the last decade in various sandy shit holes has one in his cartridge collection. He mentioned the had some issues getting them to cycle during a training exercise.
