I'm looking at the savage mark ii fv-sr. My local has the original that takes the slim mags and they have the b22 model fv-sr. From what I can tell they are the same just different stocks and mags.

I held both and liked the b22 better. The stock felt stiffer and just felt better for a cheek weld.

Are they the same? Can I expect the same level of accuracy from the b22? Thanks

From savage's website:

"Savage has added to its line of modern new firearms with the B17, B22 and B22 Magnum bolt-action rimfire rifles. The new models’ ergonomically designed stock, higher comb, top tang safety and target-style, vertical pistol grip allow shooters to hold the rifle in a more natural position that puts less pressure on the wrist. "

Seems like it should be the same gun with a few small changes. The question is - Is the stock good enough? I upgraded my fv-sr to a Boyd's stock, and love it. Highly recommended.

Well I put a new b22 fv-sr on the payment plan today. Pick it up next payday. I went with it because the stock felt so much better to me and I hate the old tiny sheet metal mags the older model uses. All the reviews seem good.

Also Boyd's makes stocks for it and egw makes a 20moa base for it too. We shall see :)

Boyd's stock is awesome! The factory scope mount has proved adequate for me so far out to 175 yards. Enjoy!
