Just built a lower for the first time with a milspec parts kit because it was free. I want to swap some stuff out eventually so what I want to know is what is your go to parts list for a lower? Takedown pins, mag release button, and safety. Googling shows endless options so what have you guys tried and what do you like/not like?

Yep. Ebay is full of good ones, made in USA stuff for around $30-35. Plus I change out all trigger springs with JP or Wolff parts, sometimes the hammer springs also. The PSA EPT is one of the best deals going in a smooth milspec type trigger and occasionally they're $29 with free shipping. If you're not gonna drop a benji and a half on a CMC or more for a Geissele you can get a great smooth trigger without creep with the EPT and the JP enhanced reliability kit

For the record I have all geissele's in my rifles. Although CMC is coming out with a 2lb flat trigger that I'll probably pick up when released.

Just curious on what people's go to stuff are for the other little parts. Hard to push the milspec takedown pins without a tool and the mag button is a bit of a reach (and ugly as sin). I have a mission first extended mag button on another rifle and I like it, just wasn't sure if there's something better.

As to safety, if you go with an ambitious one I like the lower profile option for the right hand side because of it position full profile digs into my index finger. Myself, I just take right lever and run it lightly on a belt sander and finish it off smooth by hand to what profile I like. It ain’t the prettiest but it works best for me. After that I run a Spikes NiB Battle trigger at 5 to 5.5 lbs for HD purposes ... light triggers for me go on the range guns like my Grendel only.

I agree on the ambi safety. I have a battle arms on one of my rifles with a shorty lever on the trigger finger side. Full length would drive me nuts

Info on the 2lb cmc?

I'd feel comfortable with any of the major brands, but I have used PSA with great results. CMMG, Aero, BCM, Sionics, I'd be fine with any of them.

Half of my rifles (8) have Giessele triggers, others USGI. Oh, just remember just ordered one complete kit from PSA last week for #9.

Depends on use. For what I need (not tactical) :
-I like the Seekins mag catch and mag release. Inexpensive but big improvements, imo.
-I also like short throw safeties. This is the one I like, V7 57 degree, available ambi or not. I prefer not.: https://www.vsevenweaponsystems.com...ducts/v-seven-hybrid-3-gun-sport-rh-selectors
-Strike Industries makes a cheaper one that works great, too.

Trigger of your choice. I like single stage drop in with captured pins personally.

PSA LPK is what I normally use. Rock River national match 2 stage with JP yellow springs is my favorite trigger. I've got 2 PSA NIB triggers and they're pretty good too.
