What ammo are you tucking away for your primary handgun caliber?

Mine is a combination of Winchester 124gr NATO FMJ and Federal 9BP. I've managed to pick up a case or two of each relatively inexpensively.

What's your choice and why?

I don’t necessary go cheap. All brass and almost always German MEN 124gr 9mm by the 1000 rounds each. Best ammo I ever bought. SGAmmo.com. Never in many thousands of rounds a single failure. Also in 22lr I buy Augilia in 5000 round counts out of Arizon from UNAmmo.com.

CCI Blazer Brass 1,000 rd 9mm 115 rn bulk case.
Got some from PSA on promo with free shipping and Natchez same promo.
Ammoman too when the price is right.

Another big +1 on MEN 124 grain and my other favorite, CCI Blazer Brass 124 grain. I have never had any type of failure with either and they run clean and shoot straight.

After years of shopping for the best price per round I don't even bother any more and simply order from SG Ammo. They always have close to the best, if not the best, prices.

That MEN 124gr has been calling my name, I’ve been thinking about getting a few cases even though about everything I shoot these days is reloads.

I also happen to like the Fiocchi 223a 55gr and have a bit of it stashed even though I’ve started loading rifle this year.

Edit: just bounced over to sgammo and bought some MEN 9mm 124gr and some MEN 556 56gr.

Men is the shit. For a few pennies more a round it kills other 124 gr ammo.

SGAmmo had a crazy good deal on that Fiocchi right now. Something like 260 bucks for 1k rounds.

I buy from SG, ammunition to go, or ammoman pretty regularly.

Whatever the guy who keeps his guns locked up even during a state of emergency stashed ;)

Yup, had it in the cart and decided to try the MEN 556 instead, it’s more expensive so probably not a great decision. We’ll see.

I'd like to split 14 boxes of the 9mm MEN with someone around High Point.

Consider it done bud. Just let me know when and where to pick em up just like last time.

As far as the OP, my “stack em deep” has been quite chaotic over the years depending on what was cheap/available. For a while I was on the “buy a box or two from Walmart each week” so I had a good bit of Federal.

Lately it has moved on to things like the above where someone orders a good bit of something and I throw in with.

@B00ger I'll look into it in the morn. ;)

I also buy the MEN 556 and 308. The ammo is so clean, shiny, primer seal is perfect. The German’s make great ammo.

I never imagined Mexico made 22lr Aguila would be my go to target/hunting ammo. American ammo has many issues but I can only remember one failure to fire in all the different lot numbers of Aguila.

I've been doing it wrong, I'm stacking up Glocks.
I just get whatever ammo is available at the time. I've gotten ammo in trades and I have all kinds of ammo on hand. It's range ammo, SD ammo, it's just ammo. When and if the zombies start showing up, I'm not going to be concerned with the brand of ammo that I'm slinging at them.

I stacked components deep when 9mm was over 30 cents a round. Some assembly is required but I have at least 2 or three mags full so I’m set for a while.

For my handgun ammo, 147gr Blazer or American Eagle but I just ordered a box of 124 MEN to try it out (also ordered a box of MEN 5.56). For rifle, it was 62gr Wolf .223 but I have recently switched to 55gr Fiocchi.

My stock of 9mm consists of a wide mix of brands of 115gr FMJ, and Federal or PMC JHP. I'm not picky on brand. I tend to pick up a 50rd box or two when I find a good price on it. Pick up a few boxes here, and a few boxes there, and it adds up over time.

I probably have about 2000 rounds of 9mm on hand, which is more than enough for me. The only thing I use 9mm for is CCW and practicing at the range. All my other handgun shooting is done with a revolver.

Blazer Brass 180gr .40 was what I stocked up on between Obama's election and swearing in. Still have most of it.

I am just starting back, and buying a box or 2 of cheap brass cased whatever on every check. I'll never miss $20-30 and it adds up quickly. Typically WWB or similar. Going to add some Speer Gold Dots for carry, but not as much as the FMJ stuff.

Going to start doing that with 223 as well, even though I don't have a gun that shoots it, yet.

I’ll prob be the only one, but I really like Winchester USA steel. My hands look like I just worked a shift in a coal mine when I’m done shooting it, but it’s cheap and I’ve never had an issue with it.

Federal Brass, cant say the exact kind, comes in a red box. At least I think it's Federal.
Why? Low price.

147 grain American Eagle FMJ, and 147 grain HST's are my go to. AE seems to be the easiest 147 grain FMJ to find.

Before I began reloading, it was Blazer brass as it was often the easiest to find great deals on.

Now, i'm trying to stack components... need to step it up on bullets and rifle powders.

Wolf in every caliber I own. Between several thousand rounds rifle and pistol across multiple calibers.

Semi-auto Pistol ammo... Blazer Brass... from SGAmmo... Very satisfied with the quality/value balance.

Revolver... stocks are limited... Still shopping around for the best bang for my buck...

Rifle ammo... PMC... source varies... while I've never had a problem with it, I'm curious about better options.
