The answers will be a wide variety of guns. Your chosen sport and division will make a big difference.I going to do some this year. I'm just wondering what everyone uses.
Idpa and stuff like that.
Add budget to this list which could also dictate division. The answers will be a wide variety of guns. Your chosen sport and division will make a big difference.

I'm poor. Im planning on doing the IDPA matches only at H20. I've been burning the range up this year just so I don't suck really bad. I really like the VP9 but I'm never hear people talking about them. It's always a 17L or 34.
I like the VP9. Sweet trigger and decent ergos. IDPA is nice in the sense that equipment isn’t going to be outrageous price wise. You would also be setup for production division in USPSA but may need a few more mags and pouches. When you get into limited and especially open class is where you start seeing equipment costs skyrocket.
People have shot themselves during a draw because of finger placement. I’d go bladetech and call it a day. This assumes it’s IDPA compliant. On a note, I noticed in the thread where the guys are shooting with the famous guys that it stated that you couldn't use a Sherpa holster, why is this?
The handgun will not be your short comings.I acually shoot the VP9 decently. I was thinking with something a little longer I could become a little more accurate. I guess I'll never know until I try a match. That's why I'm leaning 17L or 34
I’m not an IDPA shooter so please confirm this but I don’t think the 17L will fit in the box. 34 will though I believe. I’d recommend shooting the VP9 because it doesn’t sound like it’s going to hold you back. Get a feel for it before spending any cash. At least you’ll know what you’re looking for.I acually shoot the VP9 decently. I was thinking with something a little longer I could become a little more accurate. I use a safariland als. Pretty much any decent owb holster that doesn’t have a drop or extend away from the body and you will be good to go. Next you will have to find a sweet vest!Okay, this is gonna be a short lived thread. I really like the VP9 and I feel comfortable with it. Had a buddy offer me a Smoking deal on a 34 so I'll probably pick that up because of the price.
Ok, what kind of holster do I need. I'm poor but I don't mind spending for good stuff
The aforementioned blade tech will get you done for not much money. You can spend more if you like the game but you can also show up in a t shirt with an IWB (not Aiwb) and your mags in your pants pocket and have fun.Okay, this is gonna be a short lived thread. All it takes is one and then you get hooked.I've got a sweet vest (size Medium, tan and never worn) I'll give him if it will get him out to the competitions. Then, he can come dressed as he likes to try USPSA and see what he prefers. PM me if you want the vest.
Why does everybody wear vest?? I don't think I want oneI've got a sweet vest (size Medium, tan and never worn) I'll give him if it will get him out to the competitions. Then, he can come dressed as he likes to try USPSA and see what he prefers. PM me if you want the vest.

Cause in IDPA, ya gots to conceal ur weapon until it is shooting time.
New plan, come shoot USPSA!Really?
Really?
Really?
Failure to maintain a straight face during the course of fire is one of the most handed out penalties.Yes, IDPA is serious bidness. No time for playing around. No smiling, nothing untill all targets are neutralized
Majicmike, did you ever in your childhood utter the words, Go faster dad?

I wear some type of 1911 , and a shoot me first vest , regularly,Funny how basically nobody wears/carries the gear/guns they use for IDPA outside of the matches... lol... Except old Terry. He actually rocks that 34 daily...
