When I die...

They belong to your Estate, disposition depends if you are individual or using a Trust.

This much I could assume. The question was vague because I wanted to start the topic, but I needed to run out to feed and water my chickens.

Ok, they are individual and my dealer has my info, but my real concern is that I have items I have paid for and want to be sure these items do become a part of my Estate. So, the original question sort of morphs into a "how do I be sure these items get to my heirs, even if my heirs don't know they exist?"

Is the simple answer, make sure they know?

This is only something thst just crossed my mind and thought I would throw it out there.

Yes.

A copy of the Form 4 and a partially filled out Form 5 could be an easy thing to file with your trust/will/etc.

Even if the Form 5 gets updated, it's a start. They'll go to your default legal heir unless you name somebody else in your will.

Sometime soon I'm gonna fill out a mess of F5s, or at least one for each registered owner of items I have (at this point that's two trusts and me as an individual).

I'm going to need your full name, address, SS#, CC#...and don't forget the 3 digit NFA transfer code on the back.

I'm going to need a note from your mom....

PM sent, I’ll take it. Stool samples given for proof of identity also. I’ll need your address to mail that to

The better and maybe the more accurate question is: What has the wife found out about?
This made me laugh.

If it were me, and I am not a lawyer or anything similar, I'd maintain and addendum in my will specifically mapping my NFA items and to whom they transfer, assuming they follow the process, upon my death. Then just update the addendum as needed.

We have had 2 customers pass away while waiting for approved forms to arrive. In both cases we found out when the approved forms arrived and we tried to contact the customer.
Both times the family members did not want the items so the forms were voided by the NFA branch and we refunded the family the money that had been paid for the items.

Well, you won't have to worry about me much longer.
