The tough get to praying...

I was going to post in the "rant" thread so I could use colorful metaphors to enhance my point. And then I remembered there's a scripture somewhere about not letting foul words cross your lips, or something like that...

Anyway, here goes. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, or throwing a pity party. I am using this as a testimony.

For the last three years or so, Shari and I have faced one pitfall after another, after another, etc....
It's just been a non-stop onslaught by the enemy, and that dude is relentless. We started out great. Had our "emergency fund" established, paid off all our credit cards, and were just about to start investing. Well, fast forward two years...a project started in March 2016 that was supposed to be a net gain for us of around 70-80k profit. Well, after phase 1 was complete, they threw us under the bus because it wasn't working like it was supposed to. It was the corporate engineer's lack of research and planning that failed, NOT what we did. We built EXACTLY what we were told to. Anyway, I barely broke even on that project. THEN, my brother e-mails me about buying his part of dad's estate. $20k. Not a phenomenal amount of money, but more than what we had saved, so I had to borrow money, hustle work, and sell a BUNCH of stuff, but we did it. And juuusssttt as I'm about to start recovering from all that, my Worker's Compensation underwriter hits me with a huge bill for last year's audit. And work slows down...WAAAYYY down. And Jamey's situation is getting worse. We need $30k CASH before UNC will schedule the surgery to amputate his foot. (By the way, he's been denied Medicaid twice, and was told...off the record, of course... if he wasn't white, it would have been approved the first time...[emoji35]) Meanwhile, the muscles in his calf are beginning to atrophy, which means the longer we wait, the more of his leg could be taken, which means a more expensive prosthetic. And he is slowly becoming more depressed. And one my trucks is getting repo'd, and work is creeping along. I am just frikkin' barely making payroll and insurance, and the other truck payment. Shari makes around $2k per month, but Jamey can't work (no one will hire him because he's a liability and/or he will be missing work after surgery...he's been told this several times), so Shari's pay is paying Jamey's bills.

I have cried, screamed, cursed, prayed, and stressed more in the last 6 months than any time in my life.

When the bible mentions "longsuffering", I now understand.

But God is GREAT!! I know He will deliver us from this. His timing is perfect. I've got an AWESOME wife who loves the Lord like I do, and we know that God is in control, so we keep praying and persevere.

I'd appreciate any prayers y'all can send up for us, and agree with us that financial blessings are coming!! Jesus said "ask anything in My name, and it will be done".

In Jesus' name, I CLAIM THIS!! The flood gates of financial abundance are about to swing wide open!!

Can I get an AMEN?!

Maybe time for a change?
I've given that a lot of thought, Daniel. But I've been rigging towers since I was 14, and it's in my blood. The only other thing I am any good at is music, and I ain't NEAR purty enough to be famous.

Direction and guidance are on my prayer list every day, I can promise you that...

Daniel 6:22 “My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths and they have not harmed me

sometimes its hard not to confuse feelings of abandonment with a trial of faith

True words, my friend. I've felt a lot of things lately, but I know He is there and will NEVER forsake me...

Allen, if there's anything I can help you with don't hesitate to call. I can't offer you scripture or the like as I'm not a very religious man, but the phone is always on and the door is always open. We're hop, skip and a jump away, ya'll are welcome by anytime.

I think you have a set of skills that can be used in other fields of Construction. Mostly utility Construction.

I have contacts with a company your skills would directly transfer too.

If you want to work for someone

Sux that Medicaid has a policy of denying all white males until they just go away, die, or get a really good lawyer.
Obama loyalists sticking it to "the enemy."

I hope things work out.

Been around the bush a lot of times, seen a lot of things.
Sometimes we attribute things to the enemy that are really just our own poor choices.
Get with God, listen to the still small voice and follow its leadings. Don't let fear of the unknown stop you from succeeding in something that you have yet to try.

prayers sent.

Psalms 23:1-6
1(A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

I appreciate the offer, John. We'll make it through. Two things I will NEVER do...
Give up
Stop trying

My dad used to tell me I was tough as woodpecker lips.

My God is in control.
