I never had this problem when I lived in Arizona. We just went out in the desert and could shoot 1000+ yards easily. There isn't much BLM land here in the Carolinas. Heck, I could not even find any places to go camping out in the wilderness. :(
I found a few ranges with 100 yard rifle lanes but can't find a place where I can shoot 300+ yards. 600 to 1000 yards range will be ideal. Can you guys recommend a such a long rifle range or BLM land (with open access) within, say 2 hour drive from Rock Hill?

Clinton House shouldn't be too far. I have never been but hear it is nice. I believe a membership is in the few hundred$ range.

Check out Front Line Defense near Raleigh. They are a large complex that have two separate ranges that go out to 1000 ( I think one is reserved for .338 Lapuas and .50 cals).

It's about a 3 hour drive for you but it's probably your best bet if you're looking to shoot that far.

I am oroginally from the hi desert in southern California so I know what you mean about just finding BLM land to shoot on. You probably will not find that out here.

No BLM land here and a lot of public land is closed to shooting. You should have stayed in AZ.

I'm member at Frontline Defense, the 1,000 is only for annual members who have demonstrated proficiancy and not open to the public.
The facility is closed to public except for Saturday and Sunday
100yd rifle paper, pistol bays paper and steel and the 500yd rifle steel only.
Always check the calendar on the website to make sure they are open, matches and training may have some areas closed.

Frontline Defense, it's worth the trip!

Yes, should have, could have but it was a big job promotion and I couldn't refuse it. There are a lot of things I liked in Arizona but South Carolina is a great state to live in. People are better here too, in my opinion. Arizona heat was brutal. There were 2 seasons in AZ - hot and very hot. LOL.

Thank you! This looks very interesting. I'll definitely check them out. It's an easy drive from here. 600 yards is just about perfect. I'll be shooting my new Tikka T3X TAC A1 in 6.5 Cm caliber. This will be interesting.

Thanks. I found that range several days ago while doing a search on the net. They get very good reviews. It's not a very pleasant drive to get there as I have to pass through Charlotte and take I-85 up there. Traffic is always crazy on I-85.

I also found BangSteel dot com. They are in VA. I'm thinking about taking a day long personal training there, once it cools down a bit.

@Gyprat

Not sure what’s going on with Sandlapper but I’m a member and it’s owned by @Panteao now and has been for a while

https://panteaosportsmansclub.com/

Myself and @JustKeepSwimming joined up and have been shooting there regularly for a few months now since Fernando (owner) invited us to check the place out.

I let my membership at PSA’s Outdoor 300yd range lapse since I liked Panteao’s range so much more

I think they’re getting ready to extend the range beyond 600yds as well as adding some more bays etc.

Thanks. I got a free Day Pass to the Panteao from a member here (thanks Mbanning!). I'll be going there as soon as I can.

I just want to thank all of you guys for replying to my question!

I should go check them out. I live in the area and know Paul (good guy) but having access to private land makes paying range membership/fees a tough pill to swallow. That said it would be awesome actually spend time shooting instead of tansporting and setting up targets/tables etc.

Not too expensive for what FLD offers, post in advance if you plan to make the drive,
many of us are members and you can shoot for $40 the whole day as our guest.
