Went shooting today and noticed I was 1/2 through both powder and caps. Stopped at two stores.

Where'd it all go!?!?

BP, cap & ball, muzzleloaders, and such all seem to be in high demand now. Renew3d interest and/or people wanting firearms that aren't classified as such? Unknown.

But it's tough to find components at present.

Afterthought: actual BP may be harder to find because of different storafe req's,so fewer places stocking/shippi g. BP substitutes are a little easier to find right now. Caps are hen's teeth.

I'm not a purist so the "P" in 3f is fine for me. Can't do much without caps though.

Check out Powder Valley if you want to order online

FLASH (pun intended)

While checking stuff online I notice Cabelas has multiples in stock.

Not saying which one till I get back...

Cabelas in Concord has a few lbs of black powder left, lots of lead round balls (different sizes). No caps.

Looks like I'll need to order those. The Hazmat fee will negate any cost savings.

I'm tring to find rws musket caps and goex 3f black powder in the same place so I can save on hazmat shipping.

There is NO SHORTAGE OF BLACK POWDER AND CAPS except at brick and mortar places. Try here

All powder and caps in stock. Since he is a supplier to the N-SSA, and the N-SSA isn’t shooting Nationals, he’s got plenty. Support the little guy.

Does anyone in the triangle area-ish actually stock real black powder (goex)?

No. And that's because of excessive regulations surrounding storage and handling coupled with economics. From the economic standpoint, if demand doesn't justify paying up with the regs, stores won't stock it. In the past 10-15 years, there has been a decline in interest in shooting historic arms and a huge increase in pew pew. Stuff for an AR can be found about anywhere as a result. I remember when a bog stock AR was north of $1k and that time was 40yr back.

Maybe I'm an odd duck although I do have, have competed with and still shoot modern arms. These days I prefer the more "retro" side and play with muzzleloading and black powder cartridge arms. It takes a fair amount of actual skill to shoot them well. The tacky cool timmies in their molle gear, plate carriers and terrorist doo rags treat me like the crazy uncle locked in the closet. That is until I start taking head shots offhand at their 100yd silhouette targets with an 1853 musket and putting a number of 58cal holes between the eyes.
