Hey y’all!

Random question, been filling out for a form 1 and wanted to digitally submit prints with the application, but everywhere I’ve called won’t actually give me the eft file of my prints, they’ll only do a card :/

So question is twofold, 1) in raleigh area does anyone know of a spot where you can actually get them to give you the digital file, and 2) is there any specific instructions for what info to include in the eft when submitting for a form 1?

Thanks!

make SURE that they email you the QR code that you need for your appointment. i had the system fail, confirm my appointment, email me the time, but then not have me on file. I had to make a new appointment on-site, for a different day, then once i was in the system with a qr code i could proceed.

My man, thanks so much that’s exactly what I was looking for! $65 is a lot I feel like, but I guess I won’t have to pay for prints again, so it probably comes out in the wash.

You should never have to pay for prints.

ATF mails you cards for free, and a fingerprint pad is $7-$8. Do then whenever it’s convenient.

I have an appointment later this afternoon. I think my QR code came as soon as I made payment.

you also don't have to worry about large envelopes that fit the print card without folding it or the fees for mailing it.
I hadn't really planned on getting my eft done last week, so i did 2 form1 2 weeks ago and then rolled my print cards. The went out the same day i got my eft... cost about $8 per envelope for a flat rate priority envelope with tracking. so that's $16. already 1/4 of the way to breaking even.

That’s true, and I’ve heard it helps processing time if you submit electronic prints with your application, though not sure if that is actually correct. I got it done this morning, was pretty easy and they just email you a link to download your eft. Saved it to my drive, so should be good now!

Am I reading this correctly that you pay to have them archive the prints for 1 year and then pay a fee to get them to roll them for you. They then give you the proper approved file? After the 1 years is over you don't pay but you have the file which can be used until you loose or delete it. Is that correct?

Not for the service I had, they just immediately sent the file and now I have it, and can use it to submit forms as often as I want. With the transition to eforms, you can just attach to eft file to your application instead of mailing in a physical card

They don’t technically archive them. You pay a one time, minutes later you have a downloaded EFT file. Save it to your computer and on your backup drive and you are good to go.

Every Efile simply load your file and you’re done.
For me it is more about the convenience rather than rolling your own physical cards and mailing them.

Looking at their site under live scan it makes you choose an archive option. It then gives me a price of $35 for the scan and $35 for the archive. There is no choice for scan and file only.

I’m going to try and go through the process and see what it tells me. I made the appointment awhile back and can’t remember.

I made an appointment for “ATF” instead of scan and archive and then say you don’t have a code, and then continue on with scheduling. Was $65 total and they just sent the etf file after my appointment.

In 2019, I paid Randolph Sheriff Department $5 to print me 4 sets of fingerprints. I just sent in my last set for a SBR application. I haven’t had any rejected due to the 2019 date on the card. Yet.
I don’t know if the Sheriff’s department will do an eft, but if not, I’ll just pay another $5 and get a few sets of print cards next week. Used to just walk in and pay $5, but they have enough business now with suppressors that you need to make an appointment a week in advance.

See @BigWaylon post above, I rolled 2 sets in a bar at lunch a couple weeks ago.
