I just got back from a vacation to the White River in Flippin Arkansas and I must say if you are a fisherman or a fan of trout, you have to go. I've never really targeted trout while fishing and I have to say this will not be the last time. These little fish fight! If you aren't afraid of roughing it a little bit I strongly recommend staying at the White Hole resort. Chad, that's a deep pocket in the river...
The water was gorgeous. It was as clear as glass. I will be dreaming about that river like a band geek dreams about a cheerleader.
Anyway here are some pictures for those interested:

My first brown, I know it's small, but it's still brown

That looks pretty awesome. Rather peaceful and serene. I must say, I haven't gotten into fly fishing before but after being up at the New River this past weekend I may have found a new hobby to drop some cash into.

I do not know you, but I am pretty sure I hate you.

Due to life I did not go on my Lake Champlain smallmouth trip this year and I have a serious case of fishing withdrawals. I was also hoping to have a nice kayak by now and be ready to fish the New River this year a bunch, but that isn't happening either. :(

I used to spend a lot of time on the water in Missouri not too far north of where you were. Current River, Jack's Fork River, Gasconade. Wonderful part of the world.

For those of you that need creature comforts, give Gaston's a try. Great accommodations, good restaurant, rental boats, guides (if you need them) and anything else you can think of.
I grew up around the White River and return a couple of times a year. Sometimes I trout fish the northern part of the river and sometimes I go to the southern areas and frog hunt and trot line for cats, just depends on my mood..... Beautiful country..

Huh. Who knew a brown trout was a real thing. There goes all my poop jokes for the streams around Charlotte.

I hate to be "that guy" but the second pic is not a brown trout. It's a rainbow. But if you are like me you probably got pics switched up. I know the white is infamous for huge browns.

Looks like a good time (.......and you said White Hole Resort..... you know we are googling it anyways).
