Who carries concealed with an OWB holster?

Got a holster from chief Jason ordered and hoping it does the trick this winter. I’ve got a g19 with a x300 and rmr so we’ll see how it goes. With the 365 I’d think as long as you get a good holster it wouldn’t be a problem at all. I use to carry my 19 owb and it printed when I bent over but wasn’t too bad otherwise.

I’ve got a couple holster from bravo concealment with a couple more ordered last week that haven’t arrived yet. They have a 30 day return policy if you don’t like it and a lifetime warranty. Right now they have a buy one get one kind of deal going on where you can mix and match which holsters you want.

I carry both IWB and OWB and am comfortable with both and usually my cover garment plays role in that choice. In winter months when wearing a coat or sweatshirt it's usually OWB in a pancake holster with a thumb break. In warmer weather it may be IWB in a kydex or vedder comfort tuck or a kydex OWB depending on what I'm carrying that day and how loose or snug my shirt is. As far as holster recommendations I probably couldn't say which on is better than the other. You'll just have to try one or more till you find the one that feels right for you and you'll end up with a box or drawer full of holsters which I'm sure many out there have.

I do it all the time, usually either a belt slide or some variant of a pancake. Key with OWB is making sure the holster balances the gun on the belt well. If too much of the gun sticks above the belt it'll tend to want to lean away from your body even with a good belt. I go with just a long untucked tshirt during the summer or a tucked in tshirt and a button up or pullover during the winter. It's pretty comfortable for me to carry around on my right back hip. I find that if I get a belt/holster/gun combo where the barrel is about on the outside corner of my back pocket is a good spot for me. Just keep in mind it's not illegal to print so don't worry about the "If I turn this way and my shirt pulls tight..". When I go walking to excercise I'm typically wearing some kind of stretchy workout type tshirt so I'm sure anyone who looks hard enough at the spot on my side where the kydex paddle and ultralite 38 are either notices I have a gun or thinks that it's some kind of horrible tumor.

I tried it early on in my ccw days, and again later with a nice tight-to-the-body holster but found that no matter what, I would have to wear a really baggy shirt or cover garment. I’m not a big guy and I don’t wear baggy clothes like that. If it works for your body and dress, go for it!

Same here. Same set up. Chief Jason is the way to go.....

I carry At Least 1 365 every day. I carry in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. I occasionally carry on the belt in a Tagua belt holster off EB. I got one for the 365 and the 938. Very secure a snug to your body. It is open top with belt loops that keep a pants loop in between to really keep it in tight to your side.
Check 'em out.

I find most people that are uber concerned with printing are carrying where they're not supposed to, usually at work someplace where it's against company policy, which is not worth the risk of getting fired randomly.

Good cover garment ... and no problem carrying a full size 1911 with a 3 - 4 o’clock OWB Sparks Professional (w/ 15° forward cant) under an overshirt or light jacket when the weather turns cooler.

I carry OWB when it’s cold out in a @rantingredneck kydex holster. Have one for my glock 43, my M&P and my Glock 23. During warmer months I pocket carry the 43 in my front pants pocket

Well back when I was going into the office daily, I carried in a fobus paddle holster because I couldn't carry in the office and it was easy to slip on and off to put in the console of the car.

I carried a G30 and a G26 that way. Baggy shirt or jacket. I lost a bunch of weight so baggy shirt was easy.

Carry a G43 OWB in a Chief Jason leather pancake the past several years. Carried some other flavors of small 9mms in Chief Jason’s pancakes prior to that.

Either a G23 or a G21, in a @chiefjason pancake on a @gunbelt fat boy belt...with a second mag in a CJ mag holder. All day. Every day. G21 on Mondays and Thursdays. G23 the other five days.

Holster is 2-2:30. Mag is 11:30 for the G23 and 4:30-5 for the G21. Only because the G21 is vertical and the G23 is horizontal.

I've got a JM Custom Kydex holster for the VP9. It snugs up pretty tight to me. When I was in Illinois and needed a winter coat it was my rig for about 5 months of the year. Rest of the time I went IWB or pocket with a Sig 938.

I can't wear skinny jeans, so no IWB carry for me.

I currently carry a HK P2000SK in a Galco leather OWB holster. When it's colder, I carry a full sized HK USP in the same set up.

This says it all. This is exactly how I carry. I usually carry my 45 in an owb holster. Also my full size G23. My smaller glocks in an iwb and back ups in a ankle holster of shoulder holster.

I carry concealed with an OWB at work quite a bit, plain clothes law enforcement. Currently using a safariland ALS and a Glock 45. It conceals pretty well considering I have my firearm, badge, and handcuffs all concealed.

Which Safariland ALS holster are you using? I have a cheap older 7379 7TS "concealment" holster. I like the ALS system, but this one doesn't have a lining so my 17 rattles around in it.

Thanks for all the mentions!

I carry a CZ 75b OWB when I'm out with the family. The one in my avatar.

Several folks have mentioned printing. FWIW, most printing is in relation to the bottom of the grip. Double stacks and squared off grips will print a little with almost any method of carry if you don't dress around it. Until you get into paddle holsters or holsters that really stand off the belt noticeably and good OWB holster should not print that bad. I build mine flat on the back to help the gun ride in closer to the belt.

I picked up a nice DeSantis pancake holster to fit my 3" 44 mag a few weeks ago. When the weather cools down a bit, I'm going to give OWB carry a try.
