Who else is using Precision Bullets, and does anyone have a (shareable) coupon code?

So today I finally got out to my workshop and made up a batch of ammo with the Precision 230gr RNFs.

so far, at the bench at least, I like them just a tiny bit more than the Blue Bullets 230's. i.e. I didn't develop "Smurf Hands".
so if this batch doesn't perform poorly when I get to the range this weekend, I'll be looking to buy 500-1K more, and while they are a few dollars less than the BBs, I'm a cheap SOB who is always looking for a way to save a little bit more on the things that work. So in addition to the experiences of others I'm looking for any coupon codes etc anyone might have that are shareable.

thank you for your time and any further info you might have.

No discoloration on your hands with these. Discount code: ENOS10

I like them and usually get higher velocities with the same powder charge.

Thank you for the suggestion.

But I will not at this time be trying Acme. reasons follow
  • even with the discount they are more than what Precision is without a code
  • again, even with the code, Acme is within $2 of what I've been paying for Blue Bullets after sales tax ($8 worth). and $2 is within my margin of "ok to pay more for local"
  • I know of at least four local USPSA/IDPA shooters that bought Acme and were shipped a box with "indications of poor pre-coating process QC" (read as not insignificant numbers of partial and poorly cast bullets that went through the coating process)
I start hearing better reviews from local shooters, and Acme drops their price enough to widen the gap a bit on Blue Bullets. then I'll reconsider.
Heck if I can't find a discount code for Precision, I'll likely to go ahead and order from B.B. again next time. they're cheaper than Blue or Acme but it's still less than $5 per 500. so without a discount they'll have to shoot way better to justify not buying local.

I tried precision once. Found them to be very smoky. Like couldn't see the target on an 8 shot array smokey. Gave the rest to @FatboyFlash. He had the same result.

Also, do you have the 5% discount code for Blues? Bigger discounts for buying in bulk also.

Hopefully I don't have as strong of an issue, have to see when I get a chance to hit the range.

and I use the "Triangle" code when I order Blues. that's actually part of why I was curious about discount/coupon codes, because as noted above without a code there is less than $5 per 500 difference between what I've been paying for Blues and what Precision wants. that's not only an insignificant price gap, it's less than the amount of NC Sales tax involved in the purchase of blues. Frankly for me to stick with precision there is going to have to be another benefit to them beyond not getting "smurf hand". I'm just gathering as much info as I can at this point.

I had terrible leading with Precision and way to much smoke. I have pretty much went to fmj for a few bucks more if you get them in quantity. Hopefully you will have better results.

Forgot about the leading. Shot back to back matches in weekend. Used precision on Saturday. Barrel was leaded pretty bad. Didn't clean it before Sundays match. Shot Blues. Barrel was clean after. That was my M&P I had at the time.

I think Precision has changed their coating within the last year. Could be wrong, but I think that's what I've read, I've never used them.

I have used Gallant in 9mm, no issues, prices are right there with Blues, with no discount. I have never looked at commercial cast/coated .45 bullet pricing.

I still usually get Blues when I don't cast my own, local, and usually last minute so getting my order next day is awesome.

yeah that's kind of what i'm struggling against in this line of thought, it's hard for me to justify switching away from Blues. they're local, reasonably priced, and quick to ship/process orders.

I don't even remember now (it's been 2-3 months) why I ordered this batch from Precision, had to be either a sale, or Blues being out of the 230s(doubtful), or something. or maybe it's because they were in the top three popular pills amongst the guys I shot with in Texas (Berry's, Bayou, and Precision) and I wanted to finally try them??

But like I said unless there is a discount code available it's gonna be an uphill climb to get me to long term switch away from blues. I asked after one just in case I wind up liking these precisions.

If I don't like em I only have 250 to burn through and since that's about a match (and a test batch) worth, they'll be gone by next sunday, so no big loss. BTW just to cover something they'd have to be terrible to ruin a match for me at this point, due to illness and work issues I haven't been able to keep up my dryfire much less live-fire regimen this year. so as long as they go through point first they'll do for right this moment ;)

Make sure you wear your glasses when you shoot them. I thought I was catching shrapnel from steel targets to my face but I was still getting hit when I was shooting paper. I literally threw the rest of them in the garbage.

Well, took 'em to the range today.

after I burn through the rest of this batch, I'm going back to Blues.
no tumbling, spitting, etc but "they all actually hit the target (a USPSA, Metric)" is about all I can say about them accuracy wise. which may or may not have had to do with having to bump the OAL back a bit to get them to pass a chamber check.
