Got a hunt lined up with the wife and youngest tomorrow. Does only for us, but she is trying to cut a tag for the first time in a while.

Thinking about hunting in a ground blind, putting her and him in the stand covering a field and feeder.

Woods is probably best during the rut, IDK.

I'd like to but since everyone is coming to my house and my wife is freaking out I'm fairly sure she'd shoot me before I got out the door.
I'm in the same boat brother! Too many people coming over, shes already cooking this morning.

You cant kill them unless you go. In the rut ive seen bucks walk into open fields.

Hunt where the doe are.
Early/late edge of field, middle of day in woods.

Plan on killing some ducks tomorrow. That's why we had Thanksgiving dinner today. You got to plan ahead!

Haven’t seen any this morning. My brother saw a buck chasing does at first light.

I'm not a hunter but would prefer to be outside with you guys on a day like this. Only thing that I've got my sights on this morning is the buffet. No rifle but a 2" Model 64 NY-1 in the event any of these shopping ladies get out of hand.

Saw 2 red foxes just after first light. Popped a coyote about 8. Ran into the old clear cut and I never found him. I'm convinced I love hunting with a can, but I'm ditching subsonic ammo in my .300 BLK. It hit's hard but doesn't seem to have the shock regular ammo has. The soft point seemed to just come apart in the buck I shot. Might be sighting in a new load this evening.

Nope. Running Hornady 220gr lead round nose. Went out to the range and re sighted with 125 gr Nosler Match Ballistic tips. I've got 6 left out of about a dozen I had in the box. Once season is out I'm gonna work up a load and might go with 200 gr ELD-X. I really like the accuracy, but not sure how much powder I can get in the case. The bullet is long. If that does not fly I'll drop below 200 gr to get space in there. The main thing is, I don't feel that bullet at that sub sonic speed has the shock power that a faster bullet has. So I'm going to quit worrying about the sound and make sure I can get the deer DRT. Hopefully I'll get to test that theory before the season is out.

Oh, not sure I want to run straight cast lead in the can. No experience but seems it's not recommended. Could be wrong.

Yep, hunted all day for a place to hunt. Ended up finding a set of dies that I was hunting for................

I have hunted each morning and afternoon since Saturday, except tonight, and haven’t seen a single deer. It’s getting a bit tiresome spending so much time with nothing to show for it.

Went to W-S for the wife's family get together and saw a bunch of deer out in fields around 5:00 this evening. Saw 5 standing in a sewer right of way. One huge doe and a very nice buck in the group.

Maybe they will be moving in the morning.

Not here. Saw a bunch of tree rats but no deer again this morning.

hunted with the wife yesterday morning since she hasn't punched a tag in a few years. Hit the can bleat a few times before dawn, and had a buck come blasting out of the woods within 15yds, but stood behind the 2 trees. The wind shifted and he winded us and that was that. But if she had been seated where I was, she may have had a shoulder shot. We never saw his head but I'm pretty sure it was a small 6 that I have on camera.

Went back thru my camera pics for 2016 and tried to identify the deer that have been taken. Looks like I took out the perma-spike that has been eating all my corn the past 2 winters, and his 8 pointer buddy.
There's still a nice 9 and 8 out there somewhere.
