My carb on my Briggs mower was in desperate need of a rebuild. A rebuild kit from Briggs was $25, and not in stock at my local hardware store. I found a Chinee carb on ebay for 12 (shipped). I found a rebuild kit from China for 3 dollars. Ordered both. The Topo carb came in yesterday. Gaskets all fit. Did a little carb cleaner on the mating sides and around some of the gunked up areas on the area of mounting. Put some gas in. Fired up on the first pull.

The point is that it is hard to hate this stuff when replacement is cheaper than rebuild.......

Feeling guilty and satisfied at the same time........

Same with my $25 Ganzo Firebird D2 steel flip knife with ball bearings. It's as smooth as any microtech that I handled in the last few years. The D2 steel has held up also.

For crap stuff that just has to work OK--- like Chinese carbs for lawn mowers, I'm in.

For hand tools, knives, that kind of stuff (where there is pride in ownership) Im All American

The rebuild carb kit for my ancient Briggs and Stratton on my tiller was $75. A new predator engine that is a direct fit was $99. I feel slightly guilty until it starts on the 2nd pull.
