Why there’s so little ammo available?

Were they all Hi-Points?

I get the feeling that Brentwood is not a nice area...

380 ammo is back in stock.

Need to change that warning label to read "Breaking the law and threatening peoples lives and safety can expose you to this product which can expose you to a chemical reaction which can expose you to lead which is known to lead to death. "

What’s the reward? 😳
My reward is that you were kind enough to deliver me that 380 ammo about a year ago. If I remember correctly, it was about $10.50 per 50.

I’ll give you $12/50 for it.

I need to keep it, just like a few years ago, 380 guns are being sold for cheap because the owners can't find 380 ammo.

I think in about 9-12 months there will be a tipping point where tons of guns are being sold cheap. Lack of ammo and the fact world did not end in a massive firefight on your local streets will send many of the new guns bought recently into the used market.

If Biden wins you won't be able to buy them without going through a FFL and paying Biden's new 50% firearms tax.

Agreed, most new gun owners that have purchased their firearm(s) are simply buying a "sense" of safety and "peace of mind". Many will never properly shoot or train for self defense. I do predict ammo will be plentiful within a year as well. Hard to say on the prices, but if these ammo hoarders decide to sell their stashes and flood the market then we'll be in a good place!

I don't see things happening that fast on the legislation side. It might have to go through a FFL but I don't see the tax thing happening quickly. There are too many pro gun Dems in Congress to railroad stuff through.

We've been seeing these pricing and shortage cycles repeat for years now. Violence in the news? Election year? Stuff gets scarce, price goes up. Things simmer down? Price goes down.

In the last 10 years, I've seen AR's and ammo at their most expensive and hardest to find, and so cheap it was almost funny.

I feel like most of us keep a stash of the guns and gear we need, regardless of how things are going. Its hard for the new guys though!

I tend to agree but not everyone has the means or space to do it. Also when times like this hit it is prudent to assess the rate at which you shoot. I personally picked up a 22LR 1911 so I can practice draw, presentation and firing at much less than I can reload right now so that I can extend my 9mm factory ammo and reloading component stash. I estimate if I could not buy another 9mm I am still good for about 3-5 years depending on rate of fire. That is shooting more than enough to keep my skills as dull as they ever where. 🤨

Why there’s so little ammo available?

there are so many targets.

The answer is easy. So many people are buying and hoarding it up. I know people that have hoarded up more ammo than they will shoot in 2 lifetimes if they triple the amount the regularly shoot. One of the other reasons is one I find funny as hell. "I want to have plenty of ammo in case of a confrontation". I'd be willing to bet that in the history of man that there has never been a confrontation involving a homeowner (unless it was a suspect shooting at police) where more than 50 rounds was fired unless it was the Hatfields and McKoys. I guess anything is possible, but I personally can't imagine anything happening where any of us will need 1000's of rounds of ammo. You don't have to be a good salesman or have good advertising if customers are convinced they can't get anything whether its toilet paper or ammo, they are going to buy up every bit they can.

You're quite right. There are some guys out there, that buying ammo has become their hobby, and they get their kicks by looking at that huge stash. While there's nothing wrong with that (you do you, man!) I do think its a little silly when you look at the big picture.

In regards to the "in case of a confrontation" guy, I've met one of those as well. Older gentleman, that had a metal farm building half-full of whole pallets of 30-06 surplus ammo. hundreds of thousands, if not millions of rounds. Why did he have it? "In case the shooting starts".

I keep more than enough ammo on hand. But I also know that if the worst case scenario were to happen, I'm not going to survive any firefight that involves hundreds of rounds being fired.

In a single confrontation. What about ongoing confrontations against roving gangs over a period of a year or more and re-supply is not available?

I tend to take a similar worse case perspective as we had in Wilderness First Responder training...

"No one is coming to rescue you and you're not getting out, any time soon."

Besides, running out of ammo is just bad shooting etiquette. ;)

Just sayin'
