Getting mail from Wilson is supposed to be fun. Instead I got a letter stating that their web store had malware that collected addresses, card information and items purchased.
It's getting so that putting your credit card info anywhere is a problem. Never expected that buying a holster or a Tshirt would have such risk associated.
I had a card number compromised last year. Now I'm wondering if it was Tmobile, a gas pump or Wilson.

I have this happen every few months. Waiting on one now as it showed weird charges on statement.

It was malware that was logging transactions as they occurred. Purchases affected were like April 2020 to early 2022 based upon memory. They're sending letters to people caught up in the leak. I got mine today.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Interesting. I logged into my shopwilson.com account and looked at my order history. No orders shown. I haven’t ordered in a year or more so maybe that’s why.

Yep. Got my letter last week. Third of its kind, from different places, this year. It’s going to happen more and more the more digital we get. I’d much rather pay cash, but that’s getting harder and harder to do.

This why I have 2 bank accounts from different bank brands.
1. Main money account, no debit card, cash or check only.
2. Other that's debit card for dinner, gas pumps / paypal / amazon / online

Number two gets fed by number one, when I deposit a check into it. IF I get robbed they only get the remander of the deposit amount, change card numbers and get the bank to refund me.

Thanks for posting. My last purchase from them was March 2020 so I may have beaten the breach, but I'll keep my eyes open for a letter.

ETA: Just found this link to the letter while googling. Looks like September 2020 through February 2022.

Thank you. Like I said, posted from memory so thanks for the correction on the dates. My last transaction was August 2020 so they may be sending letters to everyone in the database.

There are banks and services that offer 1 time credit card numbers, they are worth it. I use privacy.com.

The last card I last used at Wilson Combat was compromised earlier this year. An interesting factoid: the replacement card# was compromised before I even had that card in hand! o_O

I haven't recieved a snail mail letter from Wilson yet.

All three of my kids have had their Truist debit cards compromised in the last three months. Fortunately the bank has caught it quickly. It's a pain for them to have to change cards but also a good lesson to keep some cash around.

Happens to us at least once a year. Nobody has ever sent me any communication regarding a data breach. That would be admitting incompetence and liability.
