Anyone with an old book around that lists pistol loads? I hear that it was widely used for 45acp and 38spl back in the day.

Ended up with 8lbs of it in a deal, looking for something to do with it since I don't load shotgun.

The oldest books I have are a Speer #10 and a Lyman 4th edition (shotgun) and it isn't listed in either. What makes you think it's for shotguns??
 
Also, assuming that reports that it is similar to trap1000 are true this is in my 1974 hodgdons manual

Thanks, hadn't seen that thread. It refers to Speer #11 so I'm surprised by

Yes the cans say shotgun on them so I started at shotgun forums and it was apparently universally loved by trap shooters. Of course it has been 30-40 years, so I'm sure that we have better options today, but I hate to use it to make grass green.

The only basis for believing that it is similar to Trap 100 are the recollections of old timers, but it does seem to be a common recollection of folks that loaded a lot of it.

What calibers are you looking for data on? I use it for cast lead blasting ammo in 45 ACP.
The Speer #11 manual has data for 38 Spec, 357 Mag, 41 & 44 Mag, 45 ACP and 9mm.

Thanks! I have Speer 12, and it's not listed for 38 Special, 357 mag, or 45 ACP. You willing and able to post pics of the 41 mag and 45 ACP pages?

BTW the loads are close to Trap 100 but not an exact match.

Chronographed a mild 38 Special load yesterday. Georgia Arms 158 grain LSWC bullet over 3.6 grains of 452AA w/ CCI 500 primers.
Only clocked 3 of them for 763, 766 and 777 FPS.
