Winston Churchill used a Mauser C96 Broomhandle in the Sudan, firing "ten necessary shots' in the last major cavalry charge of the modern British army in 1898. During WW2 Winston carried his Colt 1911 .45 with him frequently and his vehicle had a loaded Bren gun in the trunk!

This is an interesting video of the last Victorian as he was known in later life.

I can't find it, wish I could find it. There was a youtube video, where they asked a bunch of UK celebrities about what they were most proud of in the UK. Some said things like, "Blue Peter," but Judi Dench and Kenneth Branagh both said Queen Elizabeth, and you could see the warmth in his eyes as he was talking about her.

I don't want a queen, but there was a love there, I don't think we'll ever understand, but I respect and appreciate. This just reminded me of it.
