Installed the 17" non vented on the fairing and rode it some yesterday. I just installed an 8" into the batwing fairing to try out and see what my winter setup is going to be. I 100% and going to order bigger hand guards...these keep bugs and rocks off my fingers but excel the wind under my arms.

I ordered the wind guards for the lower side of the fairing....it does a much better job blocking wind than the MS fairing. Going to pull the tank and wire in the head unit. Might get an amp to tuck into it thus summer....time will tell.

I just ordered a slightly taller and wider Freedom Shields windshield for winter months and trips.

Took her for an RDU run last week...I must say the batwing does a better job of keeping straight line wind off me but man there sure is alot of cross wind. No it's not buffeting well it does that some if I set up tall. I can definitely feel the dirty air off big trucks at speeds over 50. For cold and enjoying the tunes the batwing is the better choice but just barely. Running back to RDU on Monday temps are going to be upper 30s starting out....yes I'm also about to buy a commuter car for bad weather days. Went today to take a look at a stick shift Camero that "just sold" I hate bait cars lol.

After two round trips to RDU and one to Faynam I can say the batwing is much better for cold but at a cost....it dropped my milage 1.5 mpg. This is with the lower fangs and running mostly 80 with the cruise on 264/95.

I wonder if winter blend fuel may be playing into the mileage loss as well.
I was pondering that also....once it warms up I'll see if it jumps back up. I know my Ultra Limited even with the high comp 103 and SE heads , larger cams etc got better milage.
