Anybody else got any winter projects planned?

I'm putting a mild set of cams in my '02 Super Glide, as well as replacing/upgrading the inner & outter cam bearing, cam chain tensioner shoes & lifters. Cams are a nice low-end & midrange grind that'll still pull to the rev-limiter. Staying at the stock 88" for now, though they'll work well at 95" should I decide to go that route in the future.

Installing a tach as well, as I managed to track down an NOS/NIB tach, mount, etc. I hate not knowing what my engine's doing. The wiring harness that came with the tach (this one was originally sold as the Road King accessory tach) should make this practically a plug & play install. I'm a nerd about scouring the parts catalogs & cross-referencing part numbers & using OE parts where ever possible, which comes in useful when the factory & aftermarket decide your bike is just old & start discontinuing parts

Also gonna be witching to a different air cleaner to vent the crank case to the atmosphere. Don't want that crap in my air-fuel mixture & really don't want the carbon buildup nastiness on the piston tops & in the combustion chambers.

I'm not into bling, but will be putting a touch more retro stank on 'er, with a couple of subtle parts choices.

First though, I gotta get my lift table put together & get the bike up in the air. It's too effing cold & I'm too old & broken to be crawling around on a cement floor.

If you go to a gear drive cams you can do away with the tensioner stuff.

I was hoping to put some taller bars on my Electra Glide over winter but my bonus was no where near what it should have been. I’m 6’3” and the stock bars make me feel like my hands are sitting in my lap and hunches me over a little bit. I wouldn’t mind seeing pics of the cam install if you think to take any.

Geezer- I thought hard about gear drive cams, but would've blown the budget. Biggest issue with stock shoes was the material, so I'm going with the Cyco replacement shoes, which are supposed to be good to go, especially after 22K miles of "polishing" the cam chain.

Dman- can do, though there are lots of good Youtube videos on it. Should be a fairly straight forward install after buying & borrowing the correct tools to replace the bearings. I've heard handlebars on dressers can be a PITA, dealing with the fairing. I'm 5'7" & 12" apes put my hands at shoulder height on the Super Glide. The 14"s I had on before were a little more comfortable & I'd like to switch back to 'em, but after dropping the rear wheel to access the slack in the wiring harness, pulling the wiring harness slack out of the frame, taking the connector apart & running the wiring through the bars & putting it all back together, twice now, I'm just not that motivated to swap bars. Not difficult per se, but definitely a nit-noid PITA.

I have plans to do the exact same thing along with adjustable push rods. 45k+ miles, shes due.. Not really looking forward to it.

Throw a 6" lift under the k5, fix some misc things on it, and get it on the road. Need to drop the tank and put a new fuel sending unit in the J10. Clean and try to organize the shop (on going battle that I seemingly cannot win). I have a million other things I need to knock out, wanted to redo the lighting in the shop and install white metal ceiling but I highly doubt that will happen before spring.

I've got plans to change fluids and filters and maybe adjust the valves. They were still in spec the last time I did it at 60k miles. But at 90k miles she's just starting to get broken in good.

I am going to work on killing my liver and finding a better job. Probably in that exact order. I might shoot a little if time allows.

I'd kill to have a dedicated shop/man-cave. Our 2-car attached garage gets the job done for now, but no room for parking or for getting a car inside to work on. We're working toward buying a small patch of woods & I'm thinking a 32x40 detached shop would work perfectly for lounge/stereo/couch/beer fridge purposes, as well as gym area, reloading, tool storage & bike parking, and still leave a full bay dedicated to wrenching.

I'm planning on tearing the tank and fenders off the FatBoy. Going to cut and bob the fenders, side mount the plate, paint job plus whatever else I run into or think about during the process. Mechanically everything is good on it, tires are good, put some tall T-Bars on it last summer, got a crap load of chrome on it already. I want to swap out the lower front forks for chrome in the near future too.
Finished the FatGirl last spring. After this one is done I might pull out the old Shovel Head and do some resurrection work to it. Then I'll have an excuse to look for another one!!

I am going to try and get back to work on the '72 Monte Carlo resto. I've got about $2k of new interior in boxes that I need to get assembled.
Also try to get the Hudson back on the road-- been parked too many years.
