Thought to start up an update thread to the Winter Squirrel War 19-20.

So how's the ammo shortage and election going to affect the winter campaign this year? Are we going to see a major Sciuridae strategic offensive or just local tactical campaigns? Will logistics shortages on the human side mean falling back on interior defensive lines and fortifications?

Or has that all been a misinformation campaign to lure the four legged miscreants into a false sense of opportunity? Are there caches of 22-LR and #6 shot ready for a long and dirty campaign?

I’m gonna rid a square mile around my house of those flea bitten, stuff chewing, blueberry eating varmints this year

No shortage on .22 pellets...the Gamo does it right
Im not there, but wifey is a squirrel hatin hussy and will carry on in my stead lol

i'm gonna have to sight in my gamo. i saw a fluffymonster in the grass the other day and took a fast shot. i think i missed.
Last time I used it i had it sighted in really well for shooting up into branches about 30ft up... not gonna be the same sighting to pop them when they're running across open lawn.

I'm actually starting to get concerned that they are taking up residence under the deck. and from there it's a short trip to getting up in my crawlspace and wreckign up everything... I'm thinking I need traps, snares, and gammo ammo

No ammo issues for a local ' downtown' campaign

I can run the newer Sheridan Streak or the ol' Crosman 140

Yep. Took out over 25 tree rats in the past few weeks with a .22 pellet gun and iron sights. Took out 5 just last evening having a couple beers on the back deck. They are fricking everywhere.

Depends on how hungry I get with food shortages from the Pandemic and all. I usually have at least one good mess of fried squirrel a year. May have to stock pile some along with deer and geese to make it through the hard times a coming!

Stick an ear of deer corn on top of a tub of tannerite and for the love of all that's holy, get video.

We had a few get in the barn this year but they always managed to get away in the foliage. I intend on killing every one I see around the house but there are alway 2 or more to replace the ones harvested.

Yep, kill one and then his friends come for the funeral...

The break action is ready for the tree bourne, the .22lr is ready for the ground attack.

Every danged fall they decide the best place to bury their nuts is in the attic.....

War is on the horizon, the leaves are beginning to fall. The stew pot is being warmed as we speak.

This year a Brunswick stew recipe and the wife going all in on canning means NO MERCY:cool:
