Wiped can pics

What does wiped mean?

It uses wipes. Generally a neoprene (or other material) disc inserted at the exit end of the can. The first projectile punches through it and it self-heals to some extent. The wipe traps more gas inside the can than a full bore baffle. The wipes are replaceable, and usually good for 10-100 rounds or so. You can even buy sheets of the material and punch out your own wipes.

The wipe can clearly be seen in the pics above, with the jagged hole in the middle.

Here is a scan on an old Cobray Mac 11 suppressor, It used 2 wipers in the end cap that were replaceable blue neoprene matl. Items 12 and 15.

Slacker and Big Waylon do y'all make your own wipes or buy them? Got a Dead Air Ghost M waiting on the tax man. Hope it will be here around May. I was planning on making my own, wondering where to buy the material and the cutter?

I don't have a a can that uses them.

I know I've read somewhere in the last month or so about somebody making their own and posting links, and I've been looking through all my normal sites for the last little while and can't find it.

Found it...was actually in this subforum. :D

bigfelipe can probably answer your questions...here's his thread: Suppressor wipes
