We had a tile backsplash installed in the kitchen so I replaced all the outlets, switches and cover plates to white to match the tile. On either side of the sink there is a switch. One controls a light over the sink, the other is for the dishwasher.
When I pulled out the old switches neither had the ground wire connected to the switch. It was in the box, twisted together with the others and a pig tail for the switch ( I guess ). I connected the ground wires to both switches when I installed the new ones.
So now I'm wondering if I should have. Is there a reason why they weren't connected? Is one way correct and the other not?
