    Hasn’t seen this posted here...

    https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/12/19/barnaul-wolf-steel-cased-300-blackout/

Barnaul is expected to announce at SHOT 2020 that they’ll be importing steel cased 300 Blackout under the Wolf brand.

I really wish they were doing a 120’ish grain, like maybe 123gr like AK’s, and a 220gr, but if this is about 25c/rd I think it’ll be a hit. Maybe they’ll use this as a market test for a later subsonic round.

UPDATE: A subsonic round is also coming. See link in 1/10 post below.

They will figure it out.....the sweet spots for 300bo are 110-125 grain and 200-225 grain.

    Sweetness.

Looks like I sold to @Sas quatch just a little too fast; that poor Ruger will never know the taste of fine communist steel now that it's out of my control.

If it's 25 cents or less it will sell like hotcakes...

I'd love some cheap food for my blk pistol for times I don't want to clean up brass...

Funny I was debating my next build being a 300BO braced pistol with maybe it being my first can host.

it's probably gonna ding up steel targets, isn't it?
wolf 7.62x39 was taking nice bites out of the edges of my targets at 100yds.

Doesn't bother mine at all but they're 5/8ths AR500 from Make It Ring. Even steel 54R out of the Mosin which is a hell of alot more powerful than x39

It shouldn’t. The bi-metal jacket isn’t hardened steel or any kind of penetrator, it’s basically powdered steel mixed in with copper to help get to the need mass and strength for less $$.

I’ve shot my 1/2” AR500 targets, that I made/sold like 8yr ago, with countless wolf .223 and it seems to shatter in impact just like XM193. I realize indoor ranges often won’t let you use bi-metal bullets or anything that fails the magnet test but I believe that’s due to an over abundance of caution for steel penetrator rounds.

Do it! 8-10.5” barrel .300BLK pistols are very handy, functional, and fun.

I've always thought 300BO was about the perfect round for me and my little defensive carbine needs. Everything I love about 556 and ARs with that gooder-er AK weight bullet for barrier and target penetration, all designed for a shorter barrel.

And while it's a shorter range round than many others, I've got shorter range eyesight and skill levels. I'm a "cooks and bottle washers weapon" candidate if there ever was one.

My primary problem with the whole idea was that the ammo wasn't Wolf cheap. Which seems to be a non-issue now, eh?

Same here. I shoot 95% steel in my AR’s so I was disappointed that there was no steel 300BLK. I began reloading and only then did I consider a 300BLK pistol. I’m able to load 125gr supers for like 21c. The current factory ammo for >40c/rd is a no-go for me; that’s not plinking ammo.

That might be a big difference. I've been shooting cheap 3/8". I'd like to get some thicker stuff, but I still don't have a handy way to shoot 100 yards or the money to buy "up close" type targets.

Looking forward to this. My .300AAC is accurate, but I don’t shoot it as a precision instrument. I like make it go boom boom. And at current prices I can’t make it go boom boom as much as I would like. If they get this in at .25-.30 per round it would be awesome

It's fun as hell banging an 8"x8" gong at 100yds with a 10.5" SBR.

I've never run Commie ammo in my ARs before, but I'ma hafta look into this.
